Thank you Evan, and good afternoon, everyone. Good afternoon. Thank you, Harry. Oh, I like that. Oh, good afternoon, everyone. Super John, did you look have a good walk, a good game of football, a good something good, JoJo good. It’s been a good day, hasn’t it? So so let a big thanks to to those brothers and sisters in impartial meeting who VE put the time and energy and effort into organising us so that we VE had such a a good and uplifting time together so far Well we’d like to turn in our bibles to judges chapter four.
- 0:38
We VE just read chapter 5 and you LL know that that’s the song of Deborah and that song is a victory song because of God S victory through Deborah Barack and jail. And we’ll see how these characters and and that song speak to us in in extraordinary detail about things of the time of the end. But we’re going to just start in chapter 4 and pick up the children of Israel again.
- 1:11
So here’s the cycle of the judges run. The Corkscrew again did evil in the sight of the Lord when E hood was dead and the Lord sold them. So just like we saw do you remember in chapter 2 or in chapter 3 where we saw that they were sold to Kush and Richa Theim that they VE been sold again and this time they VE been sold into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan.
- 1:37
What does Canaan represent? Sin. So Jabin, king of Canaan, is king sin, right? Do you see that with that recurring theme all the time? Now, Jabin means intelligence or cunning or subtle. And so Jabin reminds us of, I won’t keep this going even though it’s really funny of the serpent, right? I’m thinking of the serpent. So here is this guy, the King’s sin. Of course, he shows us something of the thinking of the serpent. And we saw in Romans 6 the challenge for us. Don’t allow yourself to, to, to, to bow down to king sin. Don’t let king sin reign in you, let king righteousness reign in you.
- 2:33
But there is another reference in Romans, just come to Romans 7, which I think is really helpful for us. So keep a marker in judges and come with me please two Romans Chapter 7 now you VE got to get in the zone you VE got to force yourself in the zone tonight it SA bit of a graveyard shift ISN T it you know you know the halls warming up.
- 2:53
You VE just had a walk and really probably most of us could do with a little nap. But if you dare to close your eyes for one minute in this session. You know me well enough for most of you. I will call you out, right? And I will humiliate you and embarrass you in all the ways that a teacher should never do, but I will do that, OK? And you know that.
- 3:13
So you make sure you stay in the zone. So you in Romans 7, So Romans 6, King Singh, right? You remember that? Now come to Romans 7 and come with me, please. 2 verse first of all, 14 we know that the law is spiritual, but the apostle Paul writes the Romans, I am carnal, sold under sin. Do you see?
- 3:46
It’s exactly what we’re seeing in Judges. So listen, I’ll get you to make your note shortly. But back in Judges 4, you need a note where it says that they were sold to Javin, king of Canaan. Romans 7 and verse 14 he’s we’re all sold to Jabin, king of Canaan, as it were, we’re sold under sin.
- 4:07
Now I want you to come a bit further on in Romans 7 and you, you remember the apostle Paul saying, you know the good that I want to do I I, you know, I don’t do because of sin in me and and and the evil that I don’t want to do. Well, that’s what I do Verse 20 Now I do that.
- 4:24
I would not. It is no more I that do it, but sin dwelling in me. I find in the law that when I would do good, evils present with me. I delight in the law of God after the inward man, but I see another law in my members warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity.
- 4:49
To the law of sin which is in my members. I always remember bringing him into captivity to the law of sin, a wretched man. He says, verse 24. Who shall deliver me from the body of this death? Who shall deliver me? What are the judges? They’re deliverers, they’re saviours. Who’s the deliverer? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So he says, my God, this constant battle in me, I, I wanna do good, but I keep doing evil because inside me is this law’s I’m sold to sin.
- 5:36
I’ve been brought into captivity, he says to the law of sin. But who is going to deal? Who has dealt with the problem of us all being in captivity to the law of sin? Who’s released us from that captivity? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord, remember the captivity to the law of sin.
- 6:02
Romans 7 and verse 23. Someone needs to remember that. I’ll forget it. Romans 7, verse 23, captivity, the law of sin come back to Judges and in Judges chapter 4, what do we see? We see they’re sold to Jaden. Now have a look on the map here. You’ll see that the Jabin king of Canaan reigned in Hapsaw. So he’s right up.
- 6:24
In fact, it’s off the top of the screen, just to make it even more exciting to show you how far north it is, right? He’s a type, isn’t he, of a king of the north. He’s right up in the north. Now we’re interested in what the judges teach us about the first coming of the Lord Jesus, but also his second coming. So as soon as we see a king of the North, we’re ah, that’s interesting.
- 6:46
And his general is Sisera, which dwelt in Haroschef of the Gentiles. And Sisera means battle array. And it’s Sisera who’s going to put the battle in array. All right, so he’s the general of of Jabin and he’s going to put the battle in array. OK, just keep reading. The children of Israel, verse 3 cried unto the Lord.
- 7:17
For Cicera Jabin had 900 Chariots of iron. Now that is a lot of Chariots of iron in ancient times. He’s got an extraordinary army. An extraordinary army. 900 Chariots of iron, 20 years. He mightily oppressed the children of Israel. And so Deborah is sent. Now you know the story well, and we’re not going to go to the story step by step. I’ll give you a very quick summary. Deborah, who’s the judge at the time, says to Beirac, go and get 10,000 men and go onto the mountain and there you’re going to defeat Cicero.
- 8:08
He says what? I’m not the right guy. No, no, God is going to work through you. So you remember they go to the mountain with the 10,000 men. Now that’s nothing against 900 Chariots of iron, but what does God do? God sends an almighty storm. And so the Chariots get flooded out, don’t they?
- 8:28
And they get literally stuck in the mud to play a classic primary school game, right? This is no game. They can’t get out, they’re stuck in the mud, right? And so Sisera the general escapes. Do you remember? And he gets out of the battle scene and he and he goes for cover and he gets to Heba the Kenites house. Now Heba the Kenite had got into cahoots with Jabin, king of Canaan.
- 9:01
I’m not going to show you the history of that this morning, this afternoon, evening. So he goes, I’ll go to that tent there. That’s brilliant. He’ll be fine with me. Well, he’s not there. His wife, Jayalis. And you remember that? Jayal says, oh, no problem. Come in. Come in. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Listen, you, you can you can fall asleep on my feet if you like. There’s perhaps a bit more to it than that. But Needless to say, he puts his head down at her feet. And we know the story.
- 9:31
She puts the the peg, the tent peg through his temple, and she strikes a wound through his skull. And that’s the story. And Judges Chapter 5, then, is the victory song of that story. I want to come now to Judges 5 because we read a recurring phrase here. We’ll come back to Judges 4 and some of the stories shortly, but I want you to notice this. Then sang Deborah and Bay Rack.
- 10:00
Does anyone know what Bay Rack means? Go on, someone said it. Lightning, make a note. Bay Rack in the margin. Lightning. Bay Rack. Lightning. Thanks, Phibes. See, it’s important. Surely. So then, sang Deborah and Bay Rack, remember, this is a mighty storm that’s going to come, OK? It’s going to flood out the Chariots.
- 10:25
So it’s significant that Bay Rack’s name means lightning. So then sang Deborah and Baerak the son of Abedimah on that day, saying, Praise ye the Lord to the avenging of Israel, when the people willingly offered themselves praise ye the Lord. Now did you notice that that phrase was repeated just a bit later on verse 9? Just have a look.
- 10:51
I asked all the governors of Israel that offered themselves willingly among the people, bless ye the Lord. So somehow you VE got to connect that up. You VE got to colour them in or you VE got to just make a note in the margin to connect up. Verse nine and verse two. This willingness of the people is of real significance when we come to the time of the end. OK, so here are the people of Israel saying I LL go, I LL go, I LL go to help in the battle.
- 11:24
The 10,000 willingly offered themselves even though they knew that the odds were against them. 900 Charities of Iron, but they willingly offered themselves. Now does anyone know of a Psalm where we read of the people being willing?
- 11:48
Go on, shout it out for us. Excellent Harry. Now have you got that Harry? Because you’re looking at the slides here. Good, excellent. Yes, well done. But at least you’re the most observant in the room anyway, right? So come on, let’s go to Psalm 110, keep a marker, but come to Psalm 110 where? And I’m going to put a table on the screen here that’s pretty awful because there’s too much in it. And I’m going to show you two or three tables today. And don’t forget, you can make some notes now. But if you want these slides, you can have them anyway. And you can then make your own notes on the tables. Or you can take your phone out, take a picture. Yeah, do whatever you want to do. But well, I’ll put two or three tables up today. But I, I want you to see the strength of the links between Psalm 110 and Judges.
- 12:36
OK, so we come here because look Psalm 110 verse 3. What does it say? Thy people shall be willing in the day of power. So that S why we come to Psalm 110. Now Psalm 110 is a Kingdom Psalm. Let S just read it. The Lord said to mine, Lord, Lord. So this is saying Yahweh says to my Lord.
- 13:01
This is talking about the Lord Jesus Christ, sit Thou at my right hand. So Yahweh says to Jesus, sit at my right hand until I make thine enemies thy footstool. The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion. Rule thou in the midst of thy enemies, so you can see.
- 13:24
When is Jesus going to rule in the midst of his enemies? When is sit in my right hand until I make thine enemies thy footstool? We’re talking about the Kingdom, aren’t we? That’s what this Psalm is about. Now the word rod in verse 2, the Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion. The fact it’s going out of Zion gives us a clue. The rod is the word tribe.
- 13:54
Alright, so make a note. Rod in the margin tribe, tribe. So Yahweh shall send the tribes of thy strength out of Zion. Rule thou in the midst of thine enemies, thy people, who are God people. Excuse me, who are God’s people?
- 14:21
Who are they? Israel, The Jews? The tribes, Do you see? So connect up thy people in verse three with the rod in verse two, because the tribes are the rod, they are the people. So who are the people that are going to be willing?
- 14:43
Verse three, who are the people that are going to be willing? Who are the tribes? Israel, right? The Jews are going to be willing in the Kingdom age. Now this is so crucial to all of our understanding of the gospel message and the truth. You know that most of the churches in the world, the Jews are forgotten.
- 15:08
Yes, they were God people in ancient times, but they crucified the Lord Jesus Christ and so they VE been rejected AD 70. They VE been rejected we know as Christadelphians and the Bible teaches us they are not rejected. Yes, they re going through an extraordinary period of trial and tribulation and difficulty for hundreds 2000 years, but they are not cast off.
- 15:37
Romans 11. They re not cast off. And so it S the Jews who are willing in the day of power when the Lord Jesus Christ comes back. We LL pick that up together again shortly. Now while I VE been talking many of you have just been writing notes because you re getting this table down South.
- 15:58
Shall we just quickly whip through it so that you can see some of the links? So the willing people, I think we VE got that. I LL make thine enemies thy footstool in verse one. Well what does Cicera do when he comes in front of jail? He falls at her feet. OK tomorrow in our expectation we LL pick up the importance of the Jew in Psalmund and 10:00 and we re really well blessed that tomorrow the reading for the day is Psalmund and 10.
- 16:24
So we LL touch base here again we read in verse two rule in the midst of thine enemies. Well, well that S what we see them doing in the time of the judges. Now this is really important in our story in verse five of Psalm 110 and verse 6. Verse five says strike through kings. Verse six says he LL wound the heads. Now they re the same Hebrew word. So so circle them and connect them up. The word strike in verse five and the word wound in verse six. It’s the same Hebrew word and it’s the word from our story in Judges.
- 17:04
It’s the word in Judges 5 and verse 26 pierced all right. So when jail it says she smote off his head when she had pierced and stricken through his temple. The word pierced is the same word as wound and strike in Psalm 110. So the word of the Lord Jesus Christ in striking their head to 2nd Evers awake striking their head of sin. Sorry, go ahead.
- 17:41
Striking the head of sin. That’s what we see in our story in Judges pointing towards she deals the fatal blow to the head of sin. And of course, jail is a woman, right? But the ecclesia is a woman. We as the ecclesia of the Lord Jesus Christ, we sometimes describe ourselves as the what of Christ, the God Caleb, the bride of Christ. Yeah, the Bride of Christ.
- 18:16
So as a woman, she shows what our role will be in the Kingdom age when we’re married to the Lord Jesus Christ, the Bride of Christ. And it will be our job to deal, to strike through kings, to wound their heads, because sin is going to have to be completely dealt with in the earth. OK, everyone got what they need on the table. If not, you can come up afterwards and you can photograph it on the screen.
- 18:45
Let S pick this up again, then the people will be willing. This is so, so important because the Jews, the Jews in the Kingdom are not immortal. Obviously the likes of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, of course they are but the Jews that we go to save after the resurrection and the judgment, and we go as the the multitudinous Christ or the rainbowed Angel, the one man, and we March out. Zechariah 12 to save the tents of Judah, Well, we LL save them. Come to Zechariah, come to Zechariah 12. I need you to come have a look at this. Come on Zechariah 12 get turning. We go to save the tents of Judah Zechariah 12 and we read in verse 7 the Lord also shall save the tents of Judah first. That S where we get to straight away we go to save them, to help them, and then we start to support and to help. Verse 8 the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and he that is feeble among them, we look after them.
- 19:59
All those that sin has touched, the feeble ones, the weary ones, the weak ones, we get in and help. Verse 10 And I will pour upon the House of David, upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace, of supplication. They shall look upon me whom they VE pierced, and they shall so they look at the Lord Jesus Christ now. And they mourn and look how genuine this morning is. Look, verse 12 and 1314, every family’s apart weeping and crying as they look at the Lord Jesus Christ who’s just saved them from Gog, from the king of the north, from Jabin, king of Syria, as it were, king of Canaan. That’s who they saved, they’ve been saved from. And so they’re nearly broken and they weep and they cry. And like anyone, when you have been so broken by a situation, when you realise that you have treated someone so badly in your life, what’s your reaction?
- 21:05
When any of us in just thinking on a human level in our lives, when we treated someone unjustly, we’ve got it wrong. And obviously for them, they got it so wrong for 2000 years.
- 21:22
What’s our reaction? We say, how can I make it up to you? What can I do? That’s what they’re going to say to the Lord Jesus Christ and his answer is going to be to them, you’re forgiven. You acknowledge your sin just like the brothers when they were in front of Joseph, but now I need you and they go back to Zechariah 10. We’re told in Zechariah 10,
- 21:54
verse three, halfway through the verse, the Lord of hosts has visited his flock, the House of Judah, and have made them as his goodly horse in the battle. So they become part of a group. They’re mortal, but they say we want to fight with you, we want to work with you. And so they immediately thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power.
- 22:22
They become the goodly horse in the battle that go. They get it, and they want to work with the Lord Jesus Christ. So when you read Psalm under 10, it’s telling you about the work of the Jews. When we come back now to Judges 5 and we’ve read about the people being willing it’s pointing forward. It S the Kingdom age when the Jews will be willing in the day of power and they LL want to work with the Lord Jesus Christ. Now come back to to to Judges chapter 5. Come on, let S go, stay in the zone. Judges 5 get those pages turning. And we read in verse four of the song that Deborah and Beyrak sing.
- 23:12
Lord, when thou wentest out of Sia, Sia is in the Sinai region. So Sinai, when thou wentest out of Sia, when thou marchest out of the field of Edom. Isaiah 63 tells us when the Lord Jesus Christ and the Saints return to Jerusalem, we will be judged in Sinai. And then we go up and Isaiah 63 is says, who is this that comes from Edom, right.
- 23:38
So this is the March when thou marches out of the field of Edom. The earth trembled and the heavens dropped. The clouds also dropped water. I want you to notice something here.
- 23:55
The earth trembled and the heavens dropped. Now when it says the heavens dropped, give me another. How would you say that the heavens poured? Rained. Yeah, poured rained. Now, for the heavens to rain, what do you have to have in the heavens? Water. And water is in the shape of the clouds. But we’re told twice, we’re told the heavens dropped the clouds, also dropped water. I think that’s significant because of who we are at this time.
- 24:39
Now, this marching language we’re going to pick up shortly in Habakkuk 3IN Psalm 68, will you just put a note in your margin? You’ve got to trust me next to verse 4, Habakkuk 3, Psalm 68, if you look in, if you’ve got a margin, look at it and it’s probably already there. Habakkuk 3, Psalm 68. Don’t worry about the verses, because it’s really the whole Psalm and the whole of Habakkuk 3. But there are three major Old Testament prophecies about the March of the rainbowed Angel.
- 25:16
They are Judges 5, Psalm 68, Habakkuk 3. What are they? Judges 5, Psalm and Habakkuk. Don’t ever forget them, all right? They are your rainbowed Angel passages. They’re the passages that show us something of the March of the rainbowed Angel. What are we talking about? We’re talking about the Bride of Christ and the Lord Jesus Christ being married and becoming one Sinai.
- 25:53
Following the judgement seat at the marriage of the Lamb, we then March out an immortal body to do the work of the Lord Jesus Christ. Where do we get the idea of a rainbowed Angel from Revelation? Thanks Oscar. Revelation 10. Just got to go there quickly. Come on Revelation 10. Otherwise the clouds dropping water won T mean much to us. Revelation 10 So I saw another mighty Angel come down from heaven clothed with a Revelation 10 verse one. What’s he clothed with a cloud and a rainbow was on his head. His face was where the sun and his feet as pillars of fire. Now this rainbow Angel is the is the picture, the symbol in Revelation 10, which is why we talk of the March of the rainbowed Angel.
- 26:57
But you Don T get the word March in Revelation. You get that in Judges 5, in Habakkuk 3 and in in Psalm 68. Here you get the rainbow. And a rainbow, of course, is formed when the sun shines through the rain. OK, That’s how the rainbow gets formed, isn’t it? Listen, you guys, you can trust me.
- 27:21
I am a primary school teacher. I know what I’m talking about. This. I’m so good at science. This is how rainbows get formed. OK, so the sun, the hedge is the sun. What’s that? The symbol of the Sun of Righteousness. It’s talking about who? So sun in the margin, the Lord Jesus. OK, that’s the symbol.
- 27:45
We’ll pick it up in a bit as well. The sun is the Lord Jesus. What about then the clouds? The clouds? Who are the clouds? The Saints? Any give me give me a reference for the clouds being the Saints. Hebrews 12. Thanks, JoJo. Hebrews 12. We won’t haven’t got time to go to all these passages.
- 28:07
But I I’m asking because you guys know them. Put in your margin next to clouds. Hebrews 12/1. Wherefore are we surrounded by so great a of witnesses, Right. That’s Hebrews 12, isn’t it? The cloud of witnesses. It’s people you’re in Revelation. Just have a quick look at chapter one, verse 7. When the Lord Jesus Christ comes back, verse seven, He comes with who?
- 28:34
With clouds, and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him. This is Zechariah 12. So who are those that is referring to here which pierced Him? The Jews and all the kindreds or the tribes of the earth shall mourn over him. That is Zechariah 12 verse 10 to 14. OK, but the Lord when he comes, comes with clouds.
- 29:01
Now isn’t saying, of course, you know, this isn’t some silly children’s picture book of the Lord Jesus Christ coming with literal clouds. Revelation is a book of sign and symbol. The clouds are people. And so the rainbowed Angel is the picture of the Lord Jesus Christ with the Saints, the faces of the sun, and he’s surrounded by a cloud. Why is there a rainbow?
- 29:27
We VE got to have rain. What’s the rain? A picture of the Word of God. The Word of God. Deuteronomy 32 verses one and two. We LL go to those passages if we get time shortly. But that’s why the rainbowed Angel is of such significance because it’s the Lord Jesus and the Saints marching out.
- 29:51
So now come back to Judges 5 and read again verse four. The earth trembled and the heavens dropped the clouds. Who’s the clouds in Judges 5? It’s us. It’s the Saints. Shall put a note next to the clouds. The Saints, they also dropped water. What’s the rain? What’s the water? Someone’s told us already the word of God. Put a note in your margin.
- 30:23
Deuteronomy 32 verses one and two. While you’re putting that note, I’ll read it to you. Deuteronomy 32 Give here, O you heavens, and I will speak. Here are worth the words of my mouth. My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech will distill as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass, because I’ll publish the name of the Lord. So God’s doctrine drops as the rain. So when the clouds drop water, yes, we know in Judges it’s literally they drop water, right? So there’s a quagmire and the Chariots get stuck, but it’s telling us of something even more amazing at the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
- 31:13
When we as the rainbow Angel are the clouds and out of us dropped water. What is the water? It’s the word. What’s coming out of our mouth, The sharp sword coming out of our mouth. It is the word. Every metaphor is picking up on the same theme. Now, ready for a big table?
- 31:39
You need to take this in Psalm 68 back to Judges. So that’s a pretty awful table, isn’t it? Right. But you can photograph it. You can come up afterwards and pick it up. I want you to just keep one hand in Judges 5 and another in Psalm 68, and we’re going to pick up just a few of them.
- 31:59
Come on, let’s go. So we don’t want to go through all of them now, we don’t have the time, but we’re going to pick up on a few. Verse 70 God, when thou wenchest forth before thy people, when thou didst March through the wilderness, that is Judges 5 and verse 4. Judges 5 and verse 4, Psalm 68, verse 7, the Helens.
- 32:32
Psalm 68 and verse 8 shook the heavens also dropped at the presence of God. Even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel. Thou, O gods, descend a plentiful rain, whereby thou disconfirm thy inheritance. When it was weary, so the rain was sent. What’s the rain? The rain is the word OK? How many Chariots did Jabin, king of Canaan have? 900 Well, no wonder he lost.
- 33:12
Verse 17. The Chariots of God, the 20,000, you know, clearly it’s just a symbolic number, isn’t it? It’s just, it’s just an innumerable number, even thousands of angels, The Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place. Now look at this verse 18. Thou send it on high. Thou hast LED captivity captive.
- 33:34
You should still have a marker in Judges 5, verse 12. Awake, awake, Deborah, we read. Awake, awake, utter a song. Arise they rack and lead thy captivity captive. Can anyone remember the verse I asked you to remember in Romans 7? I knew you had it. I could tell at the time it was in the mind.
- 34:01
Impressive. Romans 723. Do you remember when the apostle Paul was saying about being sold under sin? He said, I see another law in my members warring against the law of my mind and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin. Romans 7 verse 23, we’re all in captivity to the law of sin or to Jabin, king of Canaan.
- 34:32
It’s the same. What Bayrak does is he takes captivity captive. So the problem of sin which has got us in captivity, he gets hold of the problem and takes captivity captive. It’s quoted later on in Ephesians where we see it’s referring ultimately, of course, to the work of the Lord Jesus Christ, the one who led captivity captive. He dealt with the problem of Jabin, king of Canaan. He dealt with the problem of king sin. Now just let me give you a couple more in here. Verse 21, Psalm 68, verse 21, God shall wound the head of his enemies.
- 35:30
Now that is Judges 5. That should say, by the way, Judges 5 verse 17, she smote off his head when she pierced and stricken through his temples. So that’s the same word again that we saw in Psalm 110. We’re going to see in a minute in Habakkuk, chapter three. Final point, in Psalm 68, there are obviously masses of connections.
- 36:00
Come here, verse 34, you’ve got to go here. Psalm 68, verse 34, ascribe strength unto God. His Excellency is over Israel, and where’s His strength? His strength is in the clouds. You see, this is speaking about God manifestation. The whole point in the Kingdom age is that God wants the world to be full of His glory as the waters cover the sea, but that glory is to be seen in us.
- 36:36
His strength is in the clouds. That’s why the clouds also drop water, because God’s strength is to be shown in US. OK, come to Habicut 3. You’re doing well, everyone doing really well. Habicut chapter 3. What are my what are my rainbow Angel passages in the Old Testament? Judges chapter Psalm and Habicut. Brilliant.
- 37:03
Never, ever forget that. Habicut 3. Habicut 3. You see, and you know, we could play a game here. We won T time is moving away too quickly. But there are just umpteen connections now between Habakkuk 3, Revelation 10, Psalm 68 Judges 5. We see verse three. God came from Tieman. Tieman means the South and the Holy One from Mount Paran. This is from Sinai ISN T it So we believe the judgement will take place in Sinai and then the rainbow Angel will March out towards Jerusalem.
- 37:42
His brightness was as the light. He had horns or rays coming out of his hand. There was the hiding of His power. Look verse 5. Burning coals went forth at his feet. Did you notice that in Revelation 10 and verse one that fiery coals we’re on his feet? So Revelation 10 verses one and two you can have next Habakkuk 3 and verse five.
- 38:10
What else do we see? Well, verse 12, thou didst March to the land in indignation is the marked the rainbowed Angel. Thou didst thresh the heathen in anger. This is Armageddon language. This is what this battle is speaking to us about. It’s Armageddon. Thou wenget forth for the salvation of thy people, even for the salvation with thine anointed.
- 38:36
Thou woundest the head. Out of the House of the wicked thou woundest the head. It’s the same word, Psalm 68 in Judges 5, where jail pierces the head of Cicera. Now, in the Hebrew, some of you will know what’s the word head.
- 38:58
Go on, shout it out. Roche. Why is that significant? Yeah, Ezekiel 38. Now this is clearly talking about, you know, a literal head. But it’s interesting, isn’t it, that the work of the Lord Jesus and the Saints at Armageddon is to deal with the Prince of Roche, Gog of the land of Magog, chief Prince of Roche.
- 39:26
OK, what else do I want you to note here? Just in verse 11, at the shining of my glittering sphere. That’s Judges 4, where Bayrak, what does his name mean? Lightning. OK, so this glittering sphere is the idea of the lightning. OK, now come with me back to Judges. If you, you, any of you think, oh, I didn’t get a note there, don’t worry, just come up afterwards and you photograph it on the screen.
- 40:03
It’ll be clearer for you. Anyway, so what’s happening in judges four and five? We’re seeing a picture which is a Thunder School story. That took me one minute to remind you guys of what happens, but that’s some simple Thunder School Story is actually teaching us about the battle. Of Armageddon, when the Prince of Rosch is going to be destroyed. That’s what this story is pointing towards. And how’s it going to happen?
- 40:38
By the clouds dropping water? By an almighty storm? You, you. You might want to just put a couple of notes in here. I’m not going to go to these passages. Zechariah 9 we read Yahweh will be seen over them, and his arrow shall go forth as the lightning. That when you look up that word in Zechariah 9, it’s the word bayrack. OK, so I’d suggest next to the word bayrack somewhere in Judges 4 or in Judges 5 you circle it.
- 41:10
You’ve probably got lightning already. Put Zechariah 914, another helpful one, and ignore that one in Ezekiel for now. But in Matthew 24, you’ll probably remember this. As the lightning comes out of the east and shines to the West, so shall the coming of the Son of Man be. So his name is so significant in telling us about this storm through the Rainbow Angel that’s going to come onto the earth to destroy the King of the North at the Battle of Armageddon. Now we know that that picture of the Battle of Armageddon is the picture that we also learnt in Sunday School of the stone. We are now the stone, the Lord Jesus and the Saints cut out the mountain without hands that smashes into the feet of the image.
- 42:17
That is the battle of Armageddon, when we smash into the feet of the image, when the image that Nebuchadnezzar dreamt of stands on the mountains of Israel. When the king of the north has dropped down and stands all his power on that mountain, on the mountains of Israel, and says this is where I’m putting my Tabernacle, this is where I’m staying. The stone power, the rainbowed Angel will come and smash into the image.
- 42:53
And there’s something in Daniel too, that you all know that makes that image rather fragile at the time of the end because of though once there was a head of gold, and then there were chest and arms of silver, then belly and thighs of brass, and then legs of iron. In the last days, when the stone carved out of the mountain without hands smashes into that image, the feet are made of iron and clay.
- 43:22
And in Daniel Two we’re told that iron and clay, well, they don’t mingle, they don’t mix together, and so when the stone hits the image, it will crumble. What happens when the water comes out of the clouds in the time of Deborah and Bayrack? The water falls onto the earth. The earth is made out of.
- 43:53
Come on, The earth is made out of clay. What’s Cicero got? Chariots. All the iron can’t mix with the clay, and so his Chariots are useless. And so he’s defeated, isn’t he? By God? I come to the end of Judges 5 told you in Revelation 10 that the the Son, the face of the rainbowed Angel, is the Son. We re told at the end of Judges 5 that the that the last verse of the song.
- 44:34
So that all thy enemies perish, O Yahweh. But let them that love Him be as the Son when he goes forth in His might. That is Revelation 10. That S also Malachi 4. Do you remember in Malachi 4 where we read that the Sun of Righteousness will arise with healing in his wings? I I tried to help you by colour coding the the text. So it’s the same Hebrew in Malachi 4 and verse two, when it says to you that fear my name shall the sun, well, that’s the same as the sun.
- 45:08
It’s pretty obvious, isn’t it? It judges 5 When the Sun of Righteousness arises with healing in his wings. You shall go forth, he goeth forth. It’s the same Hebrew in his mind.
- 45:23
And so the picture at the end of this extraordinary story, I think, is of the work of the rainbowed Angel doing its job. The rain has dropped out of the clouds. The word has come out and Gogh of the land of Mago, Chief Prince of Roche, and all the confederated armies with him, will be destroyed because the iron does not mingle with clay and so the stone will grow From that moment onwards.
- 45:59
As soon as the stone hits the image, it grows. And so we read at the end of Judges 5 the last phrase. The land had rest for 40 years now. I’ve already said to you how significant this time period is. Sal. Have I got 5 minutes? Is that all right, guys? Can we do 5 more minutes?
- 46:25
Can you hang in there? Can you hang in there? Yeah, we can do it. Good. Well done. If anyone says no gal will be all right with five minutes, I’m going to really try to stick with it. Or thereabouts. So why does this 40 year period matter so much? You gotta make notes. You gotta.
- 46:49
This is so important to what we believe as Christadelphians. And of course, we’re not foolish enough until things actually happen. We wouldn’t be so strict on the detail, but it’s useful to have a vision of what we think is going to happen at the time of the end. So this 40 year period keeper marker come with me to Micah Chapter 7. Now you you VE got multiple fingers, which are going to be incredibly useful because I’m going to take you to two or three passages and I want to sort of try and keep your fingers in the morn.
- 47:20
So first of all, Micah Chapter 7. So the last chapter in Micah where we read in verse seven, we’re going to put some passages together to work out what this is teaching us. So just go in at verse 14, Micah 7, verse 14, Feed thy people, who are the people, Israel with thy rod, the flock of thy heritage, which dwell solitary in the wood in the midst of Carmel.
- 48:02
Who? Who do you know in the Old Testament that’s famous on on Mount Carmel? Elijah. Now Elijah, many of you will know is significant at the time of the end. For some of you that are really interested, we’ll do a 10 minute slot afterwards and we’ll get into some of the detail here.
- 48:19
All right, so Elijah is significant. Let them feed in Beishan and Gilead. Where was Elijah from? Give you a clue. Gilead. Yeah, it is in the days of old. Now. How’s it going to be according to the days of thy coming out of the land of Egypt? Now when they came out of the land of Egypt, how many years were they in the wilderness for? 40 years.
- 48:51
How long does land have rest for in Judges? 40 years. We saw it in Judges 3. We see it now in Judges 5. We see it in Judges 8. The land had rest for 40 years. This 40 year period tells something of the time of the end according to the days of thy coming out of the land of Egypt. So you got to keep now one finger. You got something probably in Judges. You got something now in Micah 7. Come with me to Ezekiel 20.
- 49:25
You doing OK? You hanging in there? Ezekiel 20. So this is talking about the regathering of Israel in the last days. I will, verse 34 bring you out from the people. I will gather you out of the countries which you’re scattered with a mighty hand, with a stretched out arm, with fury poured out. I will bring you where?
- 49:50
To the wilderness of the people. And there will I plead with you face to face. So let me give you a bit of background here. What’s been our mission as the Rainbow Angel? Save the tents of Judah Zechariah 10. We saw then that Judah becomes the goodly good acting Pete horse. Yes, Judah becomes the goodly horse.
- 50:18
They’re willing in the day of power, they say we’ll come and join. We want to be there. Judah is referring to the Jews in the land. Why? When the Jews were taken captive at the time of the Babylonians, Judah 70 years later came back. They then represent the people in the land. Now before Judah was taken into captivity, Israel was taken into captivity by the Assyrians. The Israel never came back.
- 50:57
Judah then, at the time of the end, represents the Jews who are in the land. Israel represents the Jews who are outside of the land. OK, so this regathering now, well, Judah is there and Israel is being regathered to the land. Verse 35, I will bring you into the wilderness of the people there will I feed with you face to face.
- 51:22
So what’s the wilderness of the people? Well, just because they’re a Jew, they can’t simply turn up with a passport and say, here’s my passport. This is a particular, this is a digital passport. All right. I suspect that they’ll be gone as well. I can’t come and say, listen, I’m a Jew, let let me into the land.
- 51:43
Yes, they’ve got priority on the ships of Tarshish as they’re being brought back to Israel. They have got to believe in the things concerning the Kingdom of God and the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. And so there’s a refining process taking place outside of the land in what we call the wilderness of the people. Now, it’s not that someone has to be in the wilderness for 40 years, but that refining process takes place for 40 years. How do we know?
- 52:17
Verse 36 Like as I plead with your Father’s in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I feed with you. Seth Lawgod, I LL cause you to pass under the rod. Now look, have you got another finger in? Micah 7 Still feed thy people. Micah 7. Verse 14 with thy rod, I LL cause you to pass under the rod, and I LL bring you into the bond of the covenant.
- 52:44
Now a shepherd in ancient times would have a rod. Think Psalm 23, Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me. What the shepherd would do. He would be the door for his sheepfold out in the wilderness. And as the sheep came in, he would with the rod literally go 123 and count them in.
- 53:06
I will bring you, I’ll cause you to pass under the rod. They’re going to be counted in as it were. They’re I will. What does he say then? I’ll bring you into the bond of the covenant. I will purge out from among you the rebels. So they can’t just go into the land because the land is at rest for 40 years following the Battle of Armageddon.
- 53:33
The land is never ever again at war, ever. The Lord Jesus Christ is in the earth, He’s in Jerusalem, He’s in the land. There will be many more battles in the world. They will be outside of the land, we’re told, aren’t we, that a highway will be built from Assyria, A highway will be built from Egypt.
- 53:56
Think about the the awful, awful earthquake that we’ve witnessed recently in Turkey when the Lord Jesus Christ stands on the Mount of Olives at the Battle of Armageddon. The earthquake that will then go off is beyond anything we can possibly comprehend today. Some geologists believe that not 1-2 Storey building will be left standing in the world when that earthquake takes place. Because we’re told in Zechariah 14, the earthquake doesn’t just split it into half.
- 54:25
It moves north-south. It’s an extraordinary earthquake. So the infrastructure is decimated. So straight away the highways need to start to be rebuilt, the infrastructure to get people in from the north, from the South, from Assyria, from Egypt. And when these Jews, Zechariah 8 says there will be 10 Gentiles hanging on to the skirt of a Jew saying we want to go with you, Well, when they come down those highways, when they come in on the ships of Tarshish, they can’t just go into the land because the land is at rest for 40 years.
- 55:06
They come on the highways to the likes of Gilead, to the likes of Baishan and Carmel. And there the work of Elijah is to refine, is to ask, do you believe in the things of the truth? And if they do, and they can show that they go to land, they willingly offer themselves, They get building the temple, they get doing the work in the land, but no one crosses the Jordan who does not believe in the things of the Kingdom and the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
- 55:51
Go quickly to Jeremiah 3, last passage on this section, Jeremiah 3 In those days, verse 18, the House of Judah shall walk with the House of Israel. They shall come together out of the land of the north, the land that I have given for an inheritance to your fathers. And they now are prepared to work again with God through the Lord Jesus Christ.
- 56:18
And so at that time, verse 17, they shall call Jerusalem the throne of Yahweh, and all nations shall be gathered to it, to the name of Yahweh, to Jerusalem. Neither shall they walk any more after the imaginations of their evil heart. Well, how has all this happened? Verse 15 I will give you pastors or shepherds according to my heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.
- 56:48
This is Elijah and company who fed them and worked with them. It orders them now to come into the land, which is at rest for 40 years. OK, time is gone. Let me just put this on the screen for you. I’m not going to give you the detail of this, so don’t worry.
- 57:08
So Christadelphians, we’ve long believed that when the Lord Jesus Christ comes back, it’s not that he comes back and suddenly the whole world is all sorted out before the Millennium begins. We believe there to be a period of 50 years Now for us, as soon as we’re called to the judgement and we’re judged, we’re either made immortal or we’re turned to go back to the wilderness. And for us it S finished.
- 57:41
We LL never have the opportunity again. We hope and pray that all of us who will be married to the Lord Jesus will become part of the rainbowed Angel, will be immortal. And so the Kingdom, I suppose for us starts then. But the Millennium period we believe doesn T start for another 50 years.
- 58:04
The return of the Lord Jesus, the Millennium age begins. It suggests that’s a 50 year period. Why very quickly Ezekiel 40, which is where we read at the temple. I’m not going to turn. There is a Jubilee year, Ezekiel 40 verse one. It’s not up for debate. It’s a fact. It’s a jubilee year. It’s the end of a 50 year period. The previous jubilee was the great Josiah Passover. So we take that 50 years and we work with that and we think, well, ten years in we would suggest here’s our red line is the Battle of Armageddon.
- 58:44
Following the Battle of Armageddon, The clowns drop their water at the Battle of Armageddon. The sword comes out of the mouth at the Battle of Armageddon. After that, the land is at rest. For how long? 40 years. No one can cross for Jordan for 40 years unless they’re prepared to accept the Lord Jesus Christ and the truth. You’ve got another time period, which don’t worry, we’re not going into now, but in Revelation 17 we read that the Lord Jesus and the Saints are at war with the beast and it’s for one hour.
- 59:22
One hour. The kings of the earth have one hour with the beast. And prophetically, we understand that that one hour is a 30 year time period. I’ll, if you want that, I’ll tell you afterwards. All right, so we’d suggest without being overly dogmatic, that what we’ve got is the return of the Lord Jesus.
- 59:45
Well, what happens in this period? So once the Lord comes into the earth, what’s the first thing that happens? The dead in Christ shall rise first. Once the dead in Christ have risen, what’s the next event that’s going to take place? The judgement. Following the judgement, there’s got to be the marriage for us to be the regular of Angel right.
- 1:00:10
So events have got to take place here before we then March out. Give me my marching chapters, judges chapter. Oh, you better wake up judges chapter. I don’t want to do it all the work so and have a cut right. So this is getting us, this red line is the great day of God Almighty. The dragon power gets destroyed.
- 1:00:35
The battle of Armageddon, what is it? The battle of Armageddon, All right out of the battle of Armageddon, the land is at rest 4 the churches of teachers, all these things. Why do you think that this 30 year time group starts here? Well, very, very quickly, the Roman Catholic Church, which is what we’re dealing with in Revelation 17, that Roman system final fight, it gives, well that system is going to fight against the Lord Jesus Christ.
- 1:01:11
Why this 30 year period? Why do we put it here? What happens there? The Roman Catholic Church say this one day Antichrist will appear in the earth. This is on in all their doctrine. It’s been in their doctrine for hundreds of years. One day Antichrist will appear in the earth. How can you tell? They say who Antichrist is.
- 1:01:38
Well, Antichrist, I’ll show you a little bit of this. Tomorrow. We’ll make friends with the Jews. Well, that’s interesting. That’s exactly what the Lord Jesus is going to do. Antichrist will build a temple in Jerusalem. Ezekiel 40 is the opening of the temple, the end of the 50 year period. The temple will begin here, we think, being built so that here the Roman Catholic system can say, we told you they’ll save the kings of Europe.
- 1:02:23
I’ll help, says the Pope. I’ll be the rider. Stick with me and they’ll fight against the Lord Jesus Christ and the Saints. Everything we told you about Antichrist, there he is. He’s in Jerusalem. That’s another point that they make. He’ll come to Jerusalem, he’ll work with the Jews and he’ll build a temple. That’s exactly what’s going to happen here. And then they’ll say that’s Antichrist and they’ll gather the kings of the earth and the 30 year period will take place. And at the end of that, the Millennium begins. OK, take home messages, everyone get that cracked sorted. Easy.
- 1:03:06
Yeah, easy. OK, so here we go. Some take home messages. Listen, we’ve got to show the glory of God today, haven’t we? Right. If we want to be part of the rainbowed Angel, where God’s glory is going out into the world, His word is coming out of our mouth. It’s dropping out of us.
- 1:03:27
There’s no point saying, yeah, I really want to be there. Then when the world is being sorted out, look at the problems of the world. You’re going to be the solution.
- 1:03:41
Show the glory, the character of God. Today we know that the time of the end, the Jews will be willing to work. We’ve got to make sure that we’re willing today. How willing are we to join in the tasks? Finally, Bit of a Darth one.
- 1:04:02
But while we wait for the Lord in school, I’d normally say to a child, what are you doing? Get your head out of the clouds. Come on, get them zoned in. Well, you’ve got a good excuse on this occasion. Get your head in the clouds because if you want to be there at that time, then you want to be part of the clouds of the rainbowed Angel.
- 1:04:25
Today is the day to be willing and to show the character of God.
