Welcome to the good Christian talks podcast. 200th, episode Special whoo-hoo. I’m Levi, and I’m Chris, and I’m Ryan. And so, really excited to record this intro together for this Bob Lloyd class, and to kind of recognize that it’s been 200 episodes, which is crazy. To me. Brian, you talk about finding this episode, this was on our to-do list for a while but we couldn’t find the recording. Yeah, so I noticed that on our back catalog of Requests that have been building up for years.
- 0:33
The one that was the farthest back. When I first joined year and a half ago is back from this one he was a request for Shippensburg 2010. Bob Lloyd brilliant at the basics and this had been sitting around since like 2018 since you guys started it we went on a search to try to find where this recording could possibly be and it was like almost like searching for a lost treasure.
- 0:54
Yeah. Because we wanted to Bob Lloyd class because episode 1 and episode 100 are Bob, lowly classes. Bob was close to Chris and I especially Chris attended the same meeting as him forever. I work currently at the company that he started. So it’s it’s fun. I mean, it was so fun to go back and listen to this exact class sentence such a worthwhile recommendation ever sent to us. It really feels like a classic.
- 1:18
Yeah, it was it was an awesome one to listen to. We figured out we went and did the math by figuring out because this was from 2006 that he would have been 80 when he gave this class. So he makes in this. Class. And some of the other ones for the other parts of a serious because it’s five classes and then he has a youth group and an expectation that are all part of this weekend series that he gave.
- 1:38
He makes mention to the challenges of traveling from Southern California to, to Newcastle Australia at 80. Yeah, wow. And how he was trying to trying to figure that out. It was I mean I was that was Uncle Bob but you know, this would have only been nine years before he passed away, she’s a little crazy to think about but yeah, it was, it was super cool to hear.
- 2:00
It was a quick this is I feel like we did this with 104. It was a quintessential Bob Lloyd talk, but this definitely felt like a quintessential Bob Lloyd talk. If the audio is from the 2006 recording of what we found was the NCC. Ew, Newcastle, Australia. And if you can help us figure out what the nce W officially stands for, we’d love to know what the official study weekend our camp was. Yeah yeah I’ve had a definitely special. Relationship with us.
- 2:30
It’s really like and we have lots of lizards in Australia, which is that’s crazy statistic was sometimes found through the numbers on these special anniversary episodes and the majority of the country that listens to this podcast, the most is actually Australia. So, shout out to our brothers and sisters down under most of all is crazy.
- 2:46
Hangs up in America talk about things. Yeah. So I actually recognize the title right off the bat because as your references in the first few minutes, brilliant, at the basics comes from a Famous Vince, Lombardi quote, and he transfers the principles of this super accomplished American football coach into how we can make a checklist for ourselves from a Biblical standpoint.
- 3:15
And how we can measure up against how well, are we doing with the basics of being a disciple with the basics of being someone that wants to be a champion for Christ? Yeah, he goes through 10 points, which I think is it makes it easy to listen to To and it gets gets all sorts of classic Bob Lloyd isms in there because he’s got 10 opportunities to involve that stuff. But I mean I was texting you guys when we’re listening to this class, that he just is so different than anyone else. Really feels like ever in our community at using stories and both real life stories and made up stories and analogies, and examples.
- 3:53
I mean, his Bible study, you know, is great, but it really is the preparation that he puts into the presentation. Which is a lesson for me. I think we prepare a stations or classes. We its kind of the it’s the not the easy part, but as the obvious part that you need to collect verses and make scriptural points and uplift and educate, you know, but the but really, you know, real education. Seems you also need to spend time thinking about? Well, what example is what?
- 4:20
Illustrations am I going to use to make these points? You know, it’s something that like we as, as people who make classes sometimes you need to be need to sit down and add in Those things it’s really interesting because I think one of the things like any kind of plays out, the theme is that a lot of his in a lot of these talks is, is classes.
- 4:38
As Bible study is never what you would call revolutionary or super deep. But he, it kind of goes right onto that same. Kind of point with about the being at the brilliant, brilliant the basics, right, where he’s just kind of talking about, like here are ten simple things, any kind of makes the joke use, like, you know, if you go through and one of the things I jotted down as a note was, no.
- 4:56
I know, sometimes people like to know about either like a reading or something to be. Therefore before they listen to the class and like this one is like get a pad and pen or something to cos he asks you to give yourself a score for each of the 10 items and he says if you come through the end and you have a perfect 100, you’re lying, but he should have just said, sure, she’s like you lie about other things than to don’t you like he calls you out on it. So he says, you know, be honest in square yourselves and like I remember when I was listening to it, now it is you know, jotting things down and whatnot.
- 5:25
And I was just like some of the stuff he says, it’s like, yeah. That’s just, it’s almost like a note. Oh duh type of comment and then you think of any like yeah but I still struggle with it, even though it’s a really simple one to do, which I think it just kind of points to both the power of the Simplicity of what he’s talking about.
- 5:42
It’s like he’s not talking about rocket science or, you know, talking about Greek and Hebrew letters and like alternate translations. He’s just like, just do the basics that that Jesus called us to do. I also did like the he had, although a lot of it was personal stories or analogies that brought it Life.
- 6:00
Like you said, Levi. He also did have biblical examples for almost every single one of them hits the long class. He definitely goes over time, but I found that to be incredibly engaging throughout the whole h plus, and I was just going to slip in that actually, despite his long run time after listening to it multiple times, I would decidedly say that, I think the last 12 minutes when he gets two points.
- 6:22
Number 8, 9, and 10 are actually the best. Those are the ones affected me the most led to my Being a really serious self-reflection the most, and I remember thinking like, you know, by the end you’re kind of just like waiting for the classic kind of wrap up and his last couple points, were the ones that hit me the hardest.
- 6:41
I was remembered a story about Uncle Bob that I was going to share in this intro. After I think it’s Point number 1, which is Bible reading. And that is so important obviously very important. He makes the point about our conversation with god being to a two-way street. But I had a I had a personal story with so.
- 7:00
It was probably twenty twelve is either 2011 or 2012. He was still somewhat involved with the business even though he was just kind of coming in rarely and we took a company Retreat to Hawaii because it was the 60th anniversary of the company. So it’s 2012 because he started in 62 or the fit. So that’s the 50th anniversary in 2012, and we all flew from La La to Hawaii.
- 7:24
And I would got it for my seat and get, you know, and walking back. Back in the plane and I came to Bob and Peggy and they were doing Bible readings and that blew me away at the time, like I would have been 25 years old or something, just stunned that Bob Lloyd was still reading.
- 7:42
His Bible, makes it look at like at like I guess we could do the math. We know he’s 80 and 2006. So in 2012 is 86 years old and how he spends his time on the airplane is Bible reading. Just so impact was so impactful to me. I’ll never forget just being like, really honestly surprised that he wasn’t reading like any other book or a magazine. Zener watching a movie or whatever, it’s just not know how he spends his time as by reading. So yeah.
- 8:04
That’s that’s a, that’s a memory always have for sure. So that I’m excited. Definitely excited to share this class. Thank you everyone who’s been listening for two hundred episodes now and this has been a real blessing to work on. I really am thankful to the people that we have helping us now with social media and YouTube channel. And we have like we kind of have a good feet like kind of a closed feedback group as well.
- 8:27
Brothers and sisters, who we can bounce things off of. So thank you to all those people and thank you to the listeners and if one who sends in suggestions. Yeah, definitely. I think that, you know, the, we always say, the subscriptions are kind of the lifeblood of this. And I mean, to Brian’s Point like this is, this is one of the original suggestions.
- 8:43
We got like, right when we started the podcast up. So felt very, very cool to be able to say like, Hey, we’re at 200. Let’s go and pull one from, you know, when we were in single digits for the episode titles. So you know, thank you to everybody. I know we get a lot of people that write in and send stuff in.
- 9:02
There are times where, you know, it might be close to four years before we get to it, but we really we try to eventually get to all of the suggestions, please send them in as always we really appreciate it. And again you know I’m thankful to get to work with with both of you guys and Levi and Brian to be able to chat through and talk through this.
- 9:21
And it was kind of like the concept that leave on I talked about in that first trailer episode of like if you have somebody that you trust that says hey this episode this episode, this This talk is awesome. You should listen to it. You always want to do and I know I’ve consumed way more talks than I would have if I was completely by myself. Oh yeah.
- 9:39
Just kind of twiddling my thumbs waiting for stuff to come up. Absolutely. So as always we hope this strengthens your faith and brightens your day brother. Bob void, brilliant at the basics. Good evening, my beloved brother and younger brothers and sisters in young people. I’m really glad to be back with you again. Good to see so many faces, which we’ve got to know and love over the weekend.
- 10:03
For some time, we’ve known and loved for a long time. Since I’ve known some of you for such a long time, some of your faces have changed. I went to my 60th, High School class reunions. I’m not going to do that anymore. All the other people are so old and bald and fat, they don’t recognize me.
- 10:22
It was full of all people. What would you expect of you? Graduate in 60 years ago from high school. Well, our subject tonight is brilliant at the basics. Now, I didn’t invent that term. I stole it. If you steal one guy’s body, it’s plagiarism. Still lots of good ideas. It’s research. So, so I have researched. And this title came from a man who’s famous in America and probably totally unknown over here. His name was Vince Lombardi.
- 10:57
He was a hit football, coach for the Green Bay Packers, which you call Gridiron Football. It’s a professional football team in Green Bay Wisconsin in the early days of professional football. They created a dynasty. They want the big game that called the Super Bowl year after year. After year, I mean, they were beating all the other teams every year and so when you’re the him to Vince is gonna win the Super Bowl again, he says, of course. Cut companies.
- 11:28
What’s your secret? Why does it that you win over all the other teams every year? Now, here’s answer is what we’re going to talk about tonight. We key off of football, but we’re going to play it too much more important stuff you can, that is your walk in the truth, but the lesson, he taught his football players. We want you to learn, not apply to sports, to ply it to your life of Being the Lord Jesus Christ. This is what he says said we’re not going to do anything fancy. We’re just going to learn the basics of football. We’re going to learn to run and Punt and block, and kick and pass.
- 12:13
And we’re going to practice these until we do them flawlessly. We are going to become brilliant at the basics. After the other teams don’t know these, but they’re not going to do it as well as we are, and we will be champions again. He was now we are professional followers of the Lord Jesus Christ and we want to win.
- 12:39
And if we want to win the Battle of following the Lord Jesus Christ, we need to find out. What are the basics is doing that? We’re going to practice them and good ourselves until we do them brilliantly. And when you do them brilliantly, you will become brilliant at the basics and you will be a champion for the Lord, Jesus Christ. Now, every sport has certain fundamentals, which are important.
- 13:02
If you play the game of golf, it will keep your head down. If you do this, if you’re hitting the ball it’s not going to go. You wanted to do, you got to keep. It says you got to follow through in baseball. Soccer is in LA in rugby. I suppose I don’t understand rugby balls.
- 13:18
I don’t understand have soccer at all. I don’t Ruben, I don’t understand Cricket at all. You have a Sticky Wicket, but I cut one and it wasn’t.
- 13:29
But every sport has certain basis and you learn those, and you do them well and you will excel in that sport. So now, we want to do that and lift it to a higher level. Because God wants you to be brilliant at the basics. How are you going to do this? Where are they?
- 13:50
How we going to know what they are? Well, before we get into it, we’re going to talk about the Pareto Principle. You have the Pareto Principle over here even though you may not never heard of the word. Pray, do I do? Who pray do was. It’s also known as the 80/20 rule you know the 80/20 rule is everybody to you 80/20. Rule of the Primo principle goes like this. If posture everything in a business Just think surprising, it works in, the Ecclesia has to the 80/20 rule, is that 80% of the business is done by 20% of the people? 20% of the business is done by 80% of people and it works at every phase of business.
- 14:24
If you have a huge Warehouse, 80% of your talk, turned over to pop stop, turned over, 20% of time, putting Sunday evening, if you have people buying on credit 80% of your people, give you 20% of your punk’ 20% of give you Acres of the problems. And also applies to sales 80 percent of the sales are told by 20% of the people and 20% off sale, or so, by 80% of the people. Now, the people who are in business have studied this to try to figure out how to get the people out of the 80% and into the 20%.
- 14:58
And that’s our goal tonight with you, in your place in life, get out of that 80%, I get into the 20% because in the business world, the 20, I said, who sell 80% of the stuff? Make 16 times more money than the 80% oneself. 20% of the world. Now, I think 16 times smarter Do they work 16 times harder? Yep.
- 15:24
They’re 16 times more successful in life. So if the if the 80% make 10,000 a year, the 20% makes 160,000. You’re pretty big difference, you know? Well, I make a lot more money. You could be there if you got out of the 80% kind of the 20% and the difference between the 80 percents, and the 20% is that the 24 cents are brilliant at the basics of whatever business they’re in.
- 15:52
And you see this act Plies and Ecclesia. Now, I have never been in this occasion. My life is a beautiful Mom. I’m thank you for inviting me here. Nice, to be a guest. Hope you may not want to have you back after tonight, but 80% of the work in most occlusions is done by 20% of the people.
- 16:16
And 20% of the work is done by 80% of the people. And so some of us are brilliant at the basics and some of us are not and I don’t know where you are and that 80/20, but you’re gonna know by the end of the evening because you’ve got that little yellow slip. And we’re so we’re going to, we’re going to have a test and the test is I’m going to ask you questions and and when I ask you a question, you’re going to write down a number. I don’t want you to write down the question at all. Because you’ll remember what?
- 16:46
Saying you’re just seeing number one and I’m going to give you a question when you get through you put down a number between 1 and 10 after that. And you do that for ten questions and you add it up and you will know if you’re brilliant at the basics but you also know and what areas of your life you need to work on to bring up the slow scores to the higher scores and this kind of thing can literally change your life if you will apply. Now I’ve done this thing all over the world, it’s amazing thing but when I do it in third world world countries, they come on, come out and say they got 110 percent If you get 100 your chi I don’t think it’s possible for anyone. You could ride anything you want, right? And if we open another thing about third world countries, they always come and tell me their score. I don’t want to know your school. This is personal.
- 17:39
This is private. This is between you and God if you want to share it with your spouse or your kids, you can but but you don’t need to just write down your numbers and fold this up and you don’t have to share this with anybody else. But when you get the second sheet, And the second cheek is going to give you the questions that we’ve asked.
- 17:58
So, when you, when you get through with this year’s going to have ten numbers oppositely, 110, you have a six or seven or five of War, 329 whatever, and then you’re going to take this sheet and transfer these numbers to these 10 questions. And then you will know which of these what number you gave yourself on that particular. Then you take this home and this is what you work on. I got three there that I that’s a lot of room for improvement it.
- 18:24
Well I got a 9 there, that’s pretty good. And if you give you All nines and tens will you cheat and other things too? So, you know, I’ve had people come up to me after this and be mad at me. I got a real score and your back was like, I think I’m gonna score. I said, you gave it to yourself
- 18:52
so so I hope you won’t be unhappy because of the score that you got, but I hope that At the score that you just play. Your seats up here. Don’t come on here. They’re all free. There’s one right there.
- 19:08
See, it pays to be late. Come to the front. So we were figure out how we can get out of that 80% of the group and into the twenty percent of the group that are really doing something. And that’s the reason for our question our evening program. So, In sports sometimes people just barely win in a race horse. I you have this Melbourne cup doing, I don’t know I win that playing the horses because I don’t play. I’ve been told that horses are smarter than people because they don’t bet on people.
- 19:54
We have a big race track near our house and I think that kind of thing is I’m not into that Scott and stuff. I think all Is bad. I suppose a racehorse gagging. I has a little bit more science to it. Least she’s looking at a horse but who knows what they’re going to do but that horse may win by a nose photo finish.
- 20:19
It takes home all the money and the one that came in second didn’t get the money. The one that came in fourth, got nothing in the Olympics. You have gold and bronze and silver medals. The guy comes in fourth gets it. They could be just six fractions of seconds sometimes between and so that’s the Judgment seat of Christ.
- 20:38
There’s going to be some people that just barely got it. I mean, it’s gonna be a wide range of people who you got in, but you just better than others got in with some spare. And there’s going to be some that just barely didn’t get into the kingdom. They just didn’t do quite What God asked? It’s going to be a fair answer.
- 20:59
You won’t be able to appeal it, it’s going to be right. It may not be what you want, but in one of our hymns we sing, you make the answer now. So you are deciding in this life. Now what your score will be and now you can work on low numbers and bring them up.
- 21:22
So that when the Lord Jesus comes to call you, You to answer for what you have done. He will say, you have been brilliant at the basics. I’m not bouncing signals worms and but he will be the result of having done these things. Well, now you could probably think of more than ten things.
- 21:42
I’ve got jailed it down to 10. You can make 20, you can make a hundred, but I think if you took these 10 and really did all of them, really I believe you’d be in the Kingdom. Not that you would have learned earlier King. You cannot earn the kingdom. It’s a gift of God.
- 22:01
Nothing we can do justifies it. The gift that’s being offered us, but he’s not going to give it to you, if you don’t want it more than anything else in all the world, and if you’re not doing the things that he asked you to do in order to to achieve it. So now, if you have something to write with you have something to write on, I’m going to ask you ten questions. Now, do not write start writing the minute that At I start talking, let me finish.
- 22:29
Each question and then down pause a moment and you just put down a number. If it’s something you do all the time. Perfect, absolutely. Can’t do better. Give yourself to him. It is something you never ever. Do, give yourself a 0. If you do about half the time yourself a five you know once in a while for your for both all the time seven or eight, nine, you are going to decide the number that you’re going to.
- 22:52
So if you don’t like the number that you’re giving yourself, that will be an area for you to work on And that’s the whole purpose of this whole evening. It’s a try to help us get into the kingdom. What can we say? And do that. We’ll have a tangible effect in your personal life, that you be a more profitable servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. Because you are now working it, these Basics that you’re trying to become brilliant.
- 23:20
Number one coming up. Do I do my daily Bible readings every day daily means every day. Not once a month, not once a week, not every other day, every day, you do, your Bible read. If you never ever Miss, give yourself a 10, here’s an area where you could get a tan. If you just if you miss a day, you make it up. And so at the end of the year, you have not missed one day but you see doing the daily Bible reading. News is not all you should do, that’s a minimum we should be doing.
- 23:59
We should be studying and can read a chapter, think about when I was a young boy an older brother and our closure, got all of us young kids together. He give us a little talk on learning how to exhort. He said, every time you read a chapter pretend that when you finish reading it, you have to Up and give a ten minute talk on it and you if you read a chapter that way you’ll be amazed how much more you get out of.
- 24:34
So does this also, what we have done in our family, when our kids were home, we would read a chapter and we would ask questions about the readings to the children and they’d have to have. And so they had to be thinking of what I might be asking as we’re reading and where to get all through as they went out and I called my name, what did you think of that? Have harder questions for the older ones and Simple questions for the younger ones, but trying to get them to think about what they’re reading.
- 24:59
You can read and your mind can kind of go off and you get to the end of the chapter and you have a clue what you read. Well, that’s it. Do you any good? So we have to read with understanding. Now this is a shocking statement but it’s in the Bible, so I’m going to make it and when I just make the statement sometimes people think I don’t ever read that the Bible, but the Bible says, if you don’t do your Bible readings, don’t bother to pray.
- 25:24
Now, did you know that was in there? Well, yes, it’s a loose translation. This is the exact wording. It’s Proverbs chapter 28 and verse 9 and songs as he that turneth away, his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an Abomination. So, what God is saying, through some prominent was inspired that if you turn away from doing your Bible readings, you don’t bother to pray, Now you owe me, I’ve had christadelphians, particularly people who are beginning to leave the truth.
- 26:00
They first thing that happens is they stopped doing the Bible readings and I had one sister come up to my office one day. She had been to meeting for her few months and I don’t even have to be married as a very you’re doing. If I was just no, I’m not. Which is I praying every day.
- 26:16
Well, I didn’t purport this verse to her at that moment, but it would apply. She had no time to Listen to God. She still wanted God to listen to her and God is really saying to us. I listen to you, she listened to me. Have you ever been about somebody to talk a little more?
- 26:36
There were stop talking. You cut can’t hardly get in a word edgewise, this one, once lady was not a Christian, she was divorcing her husband And she told the judge, my husband has not spoken to me in 20 years. The judge said, is that right? Yes. Sure. He said why? He’s I didn’t want to interrupt it.
- 27:02
Now there are people like that. They do all the talking and they never listen and they don’t listen to God. And because if you don’t listen to me, I’m not going to listen to you. And when you open your Bible, I talk to you. When you pray, you talk to me and we want both of them, but don’t forget.
- 27:22
Number one is you listen to me first? So I cannot overemphasize the importance of daily Bible readings. We are considered the people of the word, and if we’re not reading it, we’re not. And so the Bible companion was invented created by a young teenage boy named, Robert Roberts. He was just a teenager when he did, I think it’s brilliant, it’s not as fired. And you don’t have to use a Bible companion to do the daily Bible readings, but you need a plan. And you need to work the plan, you have and I think it’s the best plan because it gives you a variety of start off in three different places, Genesis to Psalms to Matthew and you end up in job and Malachi and Revelation and then you go over repeat this new testament all over again. And it’s a wonderful toy but it’s not the only way. So I don’t misunderstand me that. I’m telling you have to use a bottle for pain. I’m just saying you have, it’s not a not an option, you have to read the Bible every day.
- 28:23
Day. And if you go through 24 hours a day and you didn’t read the Bible that day, 24 hours, you have that, you don’t have 20 minutes for cotton 24-hour. Oh, I love you, but I don’t have time to read. I love to tell the story because back at home I was a young white girls and boys used to write letters to each other now email.
- 28:48
I don’t what you call cell phone text. Yeah, I texted That but we used to write letters and use magic. You’re a young fellow and you got a girlfriend you met at the conference and she lives an idolator Perth and she writes you a ladder on pink paper and it’s scented And you go out to the mailbox and you open, there’s a letter from my sweetie. Oh, she is so cute.
- 29:26
She has written me, a letter and you’re so glad to get this letter and you come into the house and you say, well, I have found buried that, you put it on the man. Because you’re busy, you’ve got for homework, you’ve got work to do. You’ll tell me that letter, you got things to do. Oh yeah.
- 29:49
You hoping that letter before you even get inside the hell well what did she say? Why. Because you love her and she is sending you a message. I was the Bible. It’s God’s love letter to you. He loves you so much. He Not this. So you can be saved and you took a know?
- 30:11
I love you but I don’t have time to read your letter. He will know. You don’t really love him. And so number one is, how often do you read the Bible? Put a number down by number one, just another? Nope, nope. I have to question 10 if you always do it. Zero if you never do and you pick the number in between that fits you question.
- 30:40
Number 2, is coming out because we talked about prayer. Number one that’s saying don’t bother to pray if you don’t read, but he does want us to pray. And so prayer is number two, and prayer is very important. You see? Well, I pray, I say, always pray for my food, you know? And then we, but how real is your prayer life. I do, you realize who you’re talking to When you pray, you’re talking to almighty God.
- 31:05
Creator of Heaven and Earth is willing to listen. God has time to listen, if you have time to pray, I had people have you. I didn’t say, pray today at Wilds of busy. The alarm went off and I, yeah, I didn’t get up. What put you in a nice restaurant, and I got to work and you don’t things happen, and I came home and I’m filling. The bed didn’t have time to pray today. God knows if you did or you didn’t. God knows the quality of your career, do you pray. So firm, you know, what James says, the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man, availeth much if you just say words, you’ve memorized a little prayer. You just say, you know, that little prayer that talking dogs, you not dolls you to head.
- 31:50
Now I lay me down to sleep. I pray, the Lord, my soul to keep if I should die. Before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take Schedule. Just think if I had. Yeah I mean that’s a stupid rule /, I think.
- 32:07
But the support is, are your prayers? Just wrote, that’s the question we come. You. Do you feel what you’re saying? And you have a perilous, are you praying for people, you know that need your prayers. So number two has to do with prayer and Not just asking you, do you pray, but the quality of your prayers and your you concentrating on God When you pray? Are you thinking that he’s he’s willing to listen? And do you feel almost sometimes wrung out after a prayer because you have just poured out your heart, to go, one of my favorite verses in all the Bible is from the Phillips translation, Europeans for our citizens of, don’t worry about anything, whatever, tell God, every detail of your needs in Earnest, and thankful person.
- 32:56
That’s what we’re talking tell. Got every detail of your needs, if Earnest and thankful prayer. And then what happened, the peace of God, which transcends human understanding will keep Constant Guard over your hearts and Minds as they rested. Stan Christ. Jesus. So that’s a good verse, but it doesn’t help you if you don’t know it. So, I recommended is a verse to memorize, but it does talk about fervent prayer.
- 33:19
So give yourself a number now under opposite. Number two, about your prayer. If it’s perfect, you couldn’t do any better. Prayers are just perfect. Every time give yourself a tick and if you have another number Fitz, give yourself whatever number you. See you, it’s you. Okay, now we come to question number three, number three is this and this one you can say yes to it for tonight, for sure. Because question number three is do I always come to the meetings and here you are you came tonight? Now you didn’t have to come tonight. I don’t know how faithful you are it. Coming out to?
- 34:00
We have people in our area that we have a guest speaker from Solway. Everybody comes. We have our own speakers. They stay away in droves. So I don’t know about you and I don’t want to know about you is none of my business. This is a self-examination chest. But are you Faithful at the things that are going on in this occasion or whatever?
- 34:20
Cause you evolved, you see if you don’t go to the meeting, whatever it is, you did was more important than the meeting because you did that. Instead of going to me, did you find I want to say that but you don’t have to say any proof. We had a brother from England come over to our Bible school years ago. His name was Peter rattles.
- 34:37
He’s Sleep, wonderful brother. And he talked about taught me, we say Aunt. I know. But English in Austria, you say aught, trying to speak your language and they say, well, aunt, that’s the whole thing that crawls around. But we call aunts and uncles aunts not, not odds, but you call, you know what I’m talking about anyway. Her name was maybe and she wasn’t a Christian Elliot and she’s coming to visit.
- 35:07
This Christian Coffee at home. She lives far away. She’s a Perth. She’s coming all the way out here to spend that. And she’s Rich, she might remember you and I will you hope all that. So she comes up to visit and so she’s not a Christian delphian and Sunday morning. You go to meeting.
- 35:25
Well, you do normally, but maybe is here. So the fans, what about you do? Don’t make me, she will go. We’ve already asked, well, we can’t leave them maybe at home, would go off to be eating, so we’ll Stay home and have a nice chicken dinner with Aunt. Maybe it miss me. And Peter Reynolds said, you just said that Eric Mamie’s tummy is more important than the Lord Jesus Christ.
- 35:52
Oh he says, you never would say that you don’t need to. You proved your actions said that her tummy was more important than Jesus. The best sounds almost sacrilegious, doesn’t it? But do you allow things? Not as important as the Lord Jesus Christ to keep you away from the table and sunny morning.
- 36:13
Do you allow things? Not so important. Keep you away from the midweek. Bible class. The Cy sees, the sun is cool, whatever’s going on. It’s something is going on in this Hall and you remember this, please, you remember the city school, you ought to be and if you don’t come, whatever it is, you are doing is more like I tell you this story. Because it had to do with the young boy who’s going to have Sunday evening lecture and yet he’d been a meeting in the morning, but he said, dad and stuff and see me. I’m not going to go back tonight. He’s you’re not, he’s annoyed since I got a headache. He says, he’s like I got a big test tomorrow. He said, I got to get that.
- 36:53
Get ready for that test. He says, I’m just saying. I was home today and the father’s job. Sorry to hear that she did. You hear the phone ring while ago? Yeah, yeah. He’s what was recording brother? He just phoned to say that his niece Susie gorgeous face. His come out to visit him and she’s going to be there tonight and she sure wanted to see you
- 37:16
Susie gorgeous face. It will bloom Oh, I would like to be there. So he says, you know, Dad we really should support the evening. I think I can see through this. This is so transparent. He says, you know, I think I will take an aspirin and I think my hair will get better and he says, I’ll go in early in the morning and talk to Professor. I think I can get an extension on this test. Now you see he was giving excuses why he And want to know which weren’t the real reason he didn’t want to go. But now, Susie gorgeous.
- 37:58
Space is going to be there. Now, he wants to go and so now he’s making up excuses, used to his dad’s, not buying all this, he’s trying to convince himself, but you see this is the way you and I are we talk ourselves into doing what we want to do. And so, if we want to do it, we find a reason for doing it.
- 38:16
We don’t want to do, we can find me. Excuse me, break me. Don’t want to do, but you should not have excuses to keep you away from Going on in York Leisure Life. Why is your brothers sisters plastic a applies to all of us and whatever it is? You do when somebody else is going on, if you go to if you don’t do it, then it’s more important than meeting.
- 38:39
So now that’s number three. And now you give yourself a grade on how faithful you are, if you are at everything that goes on this because you never miss anything, give yourself a did. If it’s less than that you pick. What number applies for you? Number four is different. Everyone needs a little bit dim, sum will have similar, but there’s a difference in each one.
- 39:04
Before a, my thoughtful of others. Am I always thinking what can I do to help someone else? How can I make another person’s burden, a little lighter. Do I respond when I hear that. Someone is sick. Lonely discouraged. Do it. Do I really have a caring attitude? About my we had a teenage boy in our closures and name was Dennis he later just keep recording brother but this is back when he was a teenager and he bought a box of get well cards Chief.
- 39:28
He’s you know they weren’t Hallmark or any fancy room and he just kind of my home and Can we great announcement? All sister Jones is ill today. Not able to come brother’s brother Smith had a stroke and he’s in hospital. So once I had an automobile accident, he would go home and dig out a card and rights as hope you feel better.
- 39:47
Love. Dennis and Milton, these old people would get a card signed by a teenager. He believed a teenager would send a card to an old person who is sick. They were flabbergasted. He, he went over so many hearts with a cheap bunch of box of cards and a few steps. It took him almost no time.
- 40:14
Noted who was Ill something just right we have address listed just look it up. It’s got a lot of mail eat. It was wonderful. He grew up and he’s taught his kids to be that way. Now to I’m thankful to say, but you see number four is has to do with how caring we are of others. Now, whenever I give this talk, I always give out an address. So you’ve got your ready, won’t you be ready to write down an address?
- 40:42
I did this. In England had a very big gap and before the Gathering began, I said I need a name of somebody that we can all send a car to and is while Havasu Heritage. I didn’t shoot anyone ever heard him. Well Sue had age lived in London and she was walking and the underground under the Streets of London and she walked by a telephone booth and just as he walked by it and exponent and blew her leg off. Now, that was that bomb was set by the IRA. The The Irish people who are protesting the British, she was in the hospital with one leg near death. So as someone gave me her address, so I gave that address out that evening.
- 41:29
Now, most of the people in that audience had never heard of her just like I had never heard of her but she began to get cards and she got hundreds of cards because it was a big Gathering and she wrote me afterwards. Because she didn’t know why all of a sudden she was so popular every day.
- 41:47
The nurses are bringing in more cards. You have some more cards to do. And she wrote me, she said I was wanting to die, she’s I felt my life was over. I was just a young girl, no leg. She’s I started getting cards from people. I didn’t even know, but they vote little words of encouragement.
- 42:04
They told me they were praying for me. She’s a gave me the will to live now a few years later. I’m back in here and another Gap. Me and I real perky, sweet little girl walking. She’s hi. Bob IM Sue manage. I do think it’s important to show, you know, the one you sent the cards to, she had a phony leg prosthesis and and she wasn’t even hardly limping and she says, you do not know what effect those cards had on. That wasn’t a big deal.
- 42:36
No, what’s that very much money? And it is spent very much time. But what they did, they reached out to someone hurt him and that person benefiting from their caring. So now I’m going to give you a name I’m going to ask every one of you, and when I do this, I have to make sure I do it too.
- 42:58
It is no use to be asking you to send the car to somebody in an eye doctor. But this is a very dear sister to me. I first met her when she was doing missionary work with her husband in India, and I went over there to teach at an Indian Bible school, and we’ve been close friends all over. You never see each other.
- 43:19
She’s someone I feel very close to and she’s been battling cancer and they thought it was in remission and it’s come back and now she’s going through chemo. Yeah, I talked to her on the phone last night and we, I’m praying for her to recover. Her family is praying for her to come. Now, since you’ve got to know her name, even if you had never met her, but you some of you may know her because her family is in this audience, her name is Sister Mei Mei, why easing. And then V like Victory enn Maven and her addresses 8 just the number 8 dark da Artie.
- 44:01
The Arty Street and that’s Redland Bay. Is that New South Wales? Queensland Redmond Bay Queensland and the zip code is for 165. Now what I hope is going to happen this next week, she’s got to get cards from all of you saying. We hope you’re doing, you’re fighting a battle. We hope we’ve what you’ve nowhere.
- 44:29
You’re in our prayers. We hope you’re feeling better. If you don’t know what to say, just right love and sign your name school but sent her a car. He will do a world of good for her to get a card from you. Even if you don’t know her, she’s daughter May’s mother. Her grandchildren are in the audience to. Now I’m asking just for one car, but what I’m trying to do is set a pattern pattern that you will carry on long after I’m gone to anyone, you know, about who you can help. You don’t have to even know the person, you just have to know what happened to the person that they’re in need of cards and you could call her, but you don’t need, you cheaper just to send a postcard, but just some kind of contact with her and that’s number four.
- 45:28
How good are you at doing that? You’ll give yourself a 10 because you said that one car, but if you don’t do this very often, give yourself a low number is Hey hey. There’s an area where I can work on this. I could I could do one a week. I can find somebody that needs a little encouragement every week. Does that mean you’re pleased?
- 45:48
You can be anywhere in the world. So he says, I need him anymore. I’m thankful she recovering when I was gifted giving these talks few years ago, we had a brother and I was fighting cancer. And everywhere I went, I’d give out this as a dress and he could cars from that area.
- 46:08
When they start getting cards from Hong Kong is, I guess, Bob’s in Hong Kong, and I was, and when I would go to see him, he had taken string and he’s put strings across his lounge and had these cards pinned on it. And he first felt I was doing it strings and strings out of people who were saying his name was Ron town. Sadly, he fell asleep and then his son got cancer and fell asleep.
- 46:42
The tragic thing and family, but I’ve given up both their names at one point in time. Now, you can’t do something for somebody if you wait too long since I say give people there’s flowers. When you they can smell them, you can send a lot of flowers to your funeral in the person in the casket doesn’t know anything because 12 people were other live because if you wait too long you may not mean there may not ever be able to show kindness to that one.
- 47:16
So it’s time to do it is when you can do it and that’s right now today is a lot, you can do so many things you can do today, you can’t do tomorrow is because circumstances will change, so that’s number. There was number four, give yourself a number of that. If you do all this all the time you’re just sending out cards. Everybody if you were Dennis you give yourself a high number but if you’re, if you could do better than you’re doing, give yourself a lower number and then say I can work on this. This is what living the truth is all about caring about each other.
- 47:51
Number five, this is a little bit different. Am I easy to be intreated? Now they see number four, you’re contacting people. But number five, its kind of people are contacting. You do people think of you is gentle and kind, somebody they can talk to Children climbed up on the left of Jesus and sat on his lap.
- 48:11
Do you owe people do you attract young people? Get away? It’ll break Or, or do they want to come and say hi and young people? Sometimes it just go lean or door open. We had a young man, an RV that he I was totally invisible to him. I mean, I’d see him coming and wait to see if you don’t speak to me and he’d go right by, he never did. So I got so I thought well, I gotta do something. So I wait till he was coming when you get near him. He isn’t coming, he had an attitude problem which showed and eventually just fell away but you see he didn’t. He would have had a little good number on number five. He he was aloof, he was smarter and couldn’t be bothered with anyone else hardly at all sometimes young B? Pretty sure this happens when you’re away. Sometimes young people want to come up and talk to me and I appreciate it.
- 49:17
I love to To them and they want. I want to tell you something. Kebab, sure, we walk off and they judge me. Have you told your parents? I can never tell they go crazy.
- 49:30
Here is a young person wanting to talk to her more or less total. Stranger about a problem. They’re having they’re hurting and they can’t even talk to her. Parents, sad, are you easy to be entreated? That’s, this is number five. Are you approachable? By your spouse by your you say, watch out for her, you know, she’s a hottie you know very techy can just give her a lot of space. You’re there are people like that, but we don’t want to be like that.
- 50:01
And if you are not little bit like that, be honest with yourself, you’re giving yourself this number and are you open that people can come to you? And say I would like to tell you my problem and you listen, Talked, I haven’t talked to the sisters this morning, lovely sister. Had a great time but there’s a Book Men Are from Mars and women are from Venus. I don’t know if you read, you’re not, but you haven’t read it. It’s not Christian but it helps men. Understand women, women understand me, but but some men, their wives can’t talk to.
- 50:41
They just fly off the handle with each other and some women are like that. And then some kids are like that. And so this number five has to do it. How easy are you to be entreated? Are you approachable?
- 50:57
And if you’re not approachable, work it becoming approachable. If you just smile at people and say how are you? I care about you, let me take the name was like, do you really well I do have a little problem, you would you have time to listen? Of course I had time this let’s go off and sit down. I was speaking in Punch Bowl in Sydney, one Sunday morning and a couple walked in is packed house and came up and sat down. I knew them.
- 51:30
Well, and you do them personally need some of the been guessing my home and after the meeting was over, he came up to me and he grabbed me by the hand, I’ll write up about. Bob, come with me and people wanted to speak to me morning. Took me right outside. Took me to his car gives the backseat, his wife was already sit in the backseat and they drove off because you wanted and what happened to him, he was even stay around for to tell you how awful, he was, but they were having a terrible problem. And they wanted to talk to me.
- 52:11
And I could have said, look, I’m your guest speaker there this morning. I mean, I’ve got to go back there. You got to prioritize your life and somebody is really hurting. You might have to be, didn’t mean to be rude but you have you can’t be two places at once. So I went with them and then we had a good talk and cry.
- 52:32
We came back from all and a lot of people still there and I were you, you know what? Tell him where I was, you know, you can’t talk about those kind of things, but you need to be the kind of person that other people can come to and talk to him in that starts with your spouse files to your children, applies to others that, you know.
- 53:00
So that’s number five. Number six. This is each of these have Shay. A of similarity but they’re not Amaya Peacemaker. Some people are always having an argument with others because no matter what you please you there in everybody’s wrong but then have, you know, people like that. It just they just trouble goes with them and they come to a pipe.
- 53:24
It go to a peaceful opinion. Actually there’s all stirred up that’s the peacemakers for they shall see. God Solomon said, one of the things that Jesus did, they got hates his goes up, stir up strife, Are you in a click? We have little groupings of people and we talk but you’re not gonna have to go with you, you know, and young people can be so, so cliquish. I there’s a, there’s a big gathering in England called swannack.
- 53:54
It is a big thing and they have it every year and a lot of young people 3, 400 there and some of the people go to Swanee and absolutely miserable. Because it seems that some of the kids that go to Swanee are cliquish and you’re either in the clique or you’re not and if you’re not you just feel like it outside string. So when I was invited this morning to speak I heard about this problem.
- 54:22
So I dreamed up a game and I end the game was you had to interview talk to other people and have them sign your card and the further away they live from you. The more points you got. So if you had your somebody in there, You’re saying coughs, I do you got a point but not very, but you got somebody from a long ways that he got more books.
- 54:40
So the idea was to try to get everybody going out and talking to everybody. Well, some people play the game as, you know, dumb old game under way back and they didn’t and you can’t make people. He can’t do it. No matter what you try to do, you’re not going to change something. I’m set in my ways and that’s where I’m going to be, but the point of this evening is to figure out what are these Basics.
- 55:04
And if, if You’re a troublemaker. If you stir up Strife, if you have those, you speak to or those, you don’t give yourself a lower score.
- 55:17
Jesus says, we have to love the unlovely. I mean it’s easy to eat these sweet children that are here. They’re so adorable. Aren’t they? I mean, we all love them but some of us, you know, we got older, we got wrinkles. And, you know, one thing about wrinkles, they don’t hurt but it sure don’t show your age.
- 55:38
And Jesus is saying you don’t you be kind to those that aren’t even kind of you. He’s a Sinners are kind of sinners. Did you know the mafia loves their mother? The mafia isn’t crime, family and tap from Italian. He said that they belonged to tell you but and they’re all over United States, but they are very family oriented and Mama Mafia.
- 56:05
She’s cooking up a big spaghetti dinner to give to her physical connector. Don’t want to rub somebody out, and so is a family, they work together but they’re gives the whole So the point here is you’ve got to get outside your little comfort zone family and speak to people. And be kind of people who don’t even know their name, sometimes you always want Bascom. And so Jesus says, you do good to those. If you do good to those who do good to you what? Thank have, ye Sinners, do that.
- 56:43
The mafia was nice to see the mafia. You got to do that. To people aren’t even nice to you, if you Render those who are led to you. Well thank you, Sinners, do that. You don’t want to thank you as a bank, is a by definition of the institution that will loan you money if you can prove to them that you don’t need it but you see you really do not need money Banks. Won’t lend you money.
- 57:05
Jesus is saying here, phone money to people, you know, I know. Baby sitters won’t other centers of him back, he’s not tell you got to be different. This is Jesus talking. Love your enemies and do good. Land, hoping for nothing again, and your reward shall be great for you, should be true of the highest for god.
- 57:26
Listen to this, God is kind to the unthankful, and to the evil and he sang. You better be kind to them too. So the question of that one is, how kind are you to people that? Not attracted to. That’s question asked me this evening, you try to speak to somebody who is Grumpy Cat, doesn’t want to even one of course, walking respond respond.
- 58:01
She’s you just ignore them. And, you know, they act like you’re bothering. But you know what? You couldn’t disarm. People just ask him a question. Jesus did talk talk my questions. You know. I just love speaking to you and I like I love to smile at you does. If there’s a tear take you if I talk to you.
- 58:21
It’s a yeah, I really don’t you bug me. Well well, it may be that maybe then you must leave that one alone but it was their choice, not yours. But if you keep being nice to people who aren’t nice to you, sometimes they melt, sometimes they will say later, you know, nobody speaks to me in the meeting, but you do you cook and you can think one reason why you’re so miserable but you don’t say that cause but you said be nice to people.
- 58:51
Who aren’t nice to you. And so, this, this is another great for you to put down on number six, how friendly are you to the unfriendly? And how much peace do you? So to other people who are troublemakers and if you’re wondering, if you’re the Troublemaker, I hope, you know, it yourself. It’s pitiful, how people can be.
- 59:18
So petty over little things, we have a crazy in America, since it’s a long ways, you’ll never know what it was, but they have an entry hall coming into their Hall. Nice nice, nice little feature and they have a little Walnut table and it’s a little that we can pick up a book and the one brother wants to have it on this side of the room.
- 59:39
You come in the door here in the main hall is there and he wants that table there. Now there’s a sister That he/she wants it over here. And so when he gets there first, he puts the table. Yeah. And then she comes a later and she’s just fun. She puts a thing and these two fuck.
- 1:00:00
Over that table where it should be. And so, she doesn’t come to meeting anymore. I’ll show you and she does not realize what a troublemaker. She is. But he should have given in to her and she should have given it to him. Don’t make a big deal out of something minor like that.
- 1:00:22
Sometimes we watch Daniel my principles, you know, but I don’t see that the Birmingham in a statement of faith without tables got to be. So you see, sometimes we let little things, get clear out of certainly you do this, raising children, you know, you can’t really correct a child for every teeny. Little thing that you, you have to kind of pick your battles and sometimes you just don’t notice something. And then when it gets to a certain point you have what we got to make a stand there and you do have to you can’t let kids do just whatever they want but but don’t make a big deal out of every little thing in life. It’s just not worth it.
- 1:01:00
You do so much more harm than Let It Go and allow yourselves to be defrauded if necessary. So that was number six. Number seven is coming up, hope you got a number by that. No, no, I’m running out of time. I’m sorry. I’m hope I’m not, I got set up. Ten questions can I have, can I finish him? I’ll speed it up a little bit.
- 1:01:22
Am I will do. Whatever I’m asked to do in the occasion or there’s some tasks in your clear that are beneath you. We rented a hall for years and years and years and we came over son in the hall was all nice and green because they have janitors took care of it. Then we bought a ha and holes get dirty and we had to clean it and so we got a roster of brothers sisters who would come and take your chair and we had people in our closure that don’t do toilets. Well, they need to be done not by me. Is he, is there anything that you’re asked to do you think you’re too good to do it?
- 1:02:05
Jesus got down on his knees and worship judas’s feet. That’s about a lowly, a job. As you can dear, Jesus, humbled himself at the feet of his creator. So if the teacher asks you to do, I do something maids in America say we don’t do windows well, Well, is there something that you won’t do or you say here my Samia?
- 1:02:26
Is it is job needs to be done? How do you want some reading done on the garden? I’ll do it. You want me to do the windows? I’ll do it. So how willing are you to help out with anything that you’re asked to do? You have yourself a number, remember eight. But number seven, whatever you do, whether it’s that place, you were not.
- 1:02:44
But if you’re just willing to wherever you’re asked to do, we have a meals and somebody has to do dishes. What somebody is, not a fun job to go out there, the kitchen about you. Then in the end, you can’t go visiting cause you know, I’m out there with washing the dishes. Are you going to do that? Oh, no, that’s, that’s a somebody else’s would be willing to do whatever you needed to do.
- 1:03:06
Someone asks, you to help is to their say, yes, I am Number 8, has to do with preaching. I’m not talk about poetry, you know, I’m not talking about getting records from the platform, I feel like you personally preaching, I did you care that other people are perishing, you know, everybody in the The whole wide world that doesn’t know about the promises of God we’re in a fix. Paul says your earring or Commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of problem, you have no hope and without God in the world that, you know, anybody that does not know about the promises.
- 1:03:39
If you say, you don’t want that doesn’t know, you tell otherwise to, we all know people who don’t know because the world doesn’t know. That versus you don’t know, you have no hope. You don’t know, but da/dt keep. That’s the way you feel about people. That don’t know, you got a responsibility to share your hope with others and I have to ask my question.
- 1:04:11
I said do you know about the promises? They promised it that’s it. What what promises God made to Abraham who are the way over? I was Abraham Lincoln No, no a baby’s bottom. I don’t know which I can about. Yeah, well, that’s all right future. You see zika says, if you don’t tell her, it’s your problem.
- 1:04:31
If you tell them and they won’t listen to Sir problem, you have to be very smart to make it their problem study yours. So all of us should be preachers sharing the good news of Christ coming with everybody to share. Just everybody, you know, know you’re a Christian Alfea. I tell everybody I’m a Christian audience and what’s that? Oh, they act school.
- 1:04:53
What would you ask? I’m going to give you something. It’s about work. I carry these on my phone. I don’t leave home without these. I had to pick up. Answer your questions about gluten, Alex, the passing of a good telling you what’s that? But you body but I was, I was flying all over Australia every day. I was on a different airplane.
- 1:05:23
Going one I felt like I was running for office or something, I was in Townsville and Rockhampton and Brisbane and in our everyday I was infected and I all this pain. One morning and the flight attendant ladies, she’s matured as plant yesterday And I said, yeah, she said what are you doing? I said I’m giving talks for my church’s truth. What truth?
- 1:05:43
That’s a good job. She’s what’s that? That’s just put that your point. I got to see, I got better ones and she had a pocket in her in her little uniform. So, I just took one of these and I said, I know you’re busy now, she can’t stop me apparent. He’s working the aisles.
- 1:05:59
That’s to put that in your book. It’s kind of dress, something I plan to see, I don’t know what I see. My wife and I were flying to Perth years ago and back in those days you couldn’t make it all the way to Australia without Landing in Tahiti because they had to refuel, you know, it’s nonstop. But this is way back.
- 1:06:22
So we were, I was doing my readings and my C, and on a flight from LA to the Hideous, long flight and people walk by and, you know, so we got off the plane in Tahiti, it’s 2:00 in the morning and so you just move around the airport while they refuel the plane and get Back on and we’re Peggy and I are standing there and the airport is the middle of the night and a couple comes in. I noticed you were reading, your Bible, we walk by you, going to the toilet and I saw you reading about what church, are you? Wow.
- 1:06:52
So I told him all about what we were and we got back on the plane was a shortstop, and I’m sitting on the platform in Perth. And in walks this couple And they had read in the newspaper and given a parent at my name on it. I got another one, too, I got it. If I really did have a good discussion with you. I got a I got another one, just like this and it says person would count and it says this little booklet is a statement of my religious faith.
- 1:07:25
I hope you will find it. Interesting. It’s got my name, I dress for number everything and then I say and I say in the back, you know, God won’t history in advance. So there’s there’s a history of the world even before it happened. All history books. Tell you what happened except the Bible and it tells you what’s going on. So and that fit your coupon, I just go to messages. Put thank you for watching and if you ever want to hear from anyway, they had my name and they got the little booklet out and they looked in the newspaper special lecture by the Christian damage Robert wife of California. Hey, he said he was that’s a guy. We’ve been on the plane, they came into the lecture and I’m sitting on the platform of the Brazilian boat and rescued him, I said, wait a minute.
- 1:08:08
Run down in a government. I promised Em Down up beside my wife because we personally knew was my wife’s asleep. And then after what we have talked and I would love to tell you the sequel was that the ended up being baptized but that’s not what happened. They never heard from him again, but the point was the seed was planted.
- 1:08:27
Its up, God gives the increase. Noah preached, 120 years and all he said was his family, but so the point is I’m number eight. Are you always telling people? You’re a Christian? Alfea, are you trying to share your hope with us now, if not sad story on the other side of the coin, I’m sure.
- 1:08:46
See I sell insurance for a living. I never asked herself into biofuels, never never never, but if they ask me, help them, I will. So this one this this story is 40 40, 45 years old. But this sister had a problem. I was writing her church and she owned me to come and see her at work.
- 1:09:05
So I went down to where she worked and I went to receptus must ask for the late lady and it was a place where you had to have ID badges. And when you get in, you had to sign you in then come and get you and take, you take you back to their office. So you have to wait there until the person that you were to see. That’s cause you’re too because it was closed facility. So I’ve signed in and she comes up and she gets me and as we’re walking back to her office because she knows me, he’s Bob he says do Bitchin christadelphians around here. Nobody knows.
- 1:09:37
I am walking. He was her office, Maya Bay, I was sad. She was hiding her life Under The Bushel. Don’t be like that. That’s number eight. Number 9, what happened over. There we are. We have bumper stickers over our way on the cars. And one Cars bumper stickers, don’t follow me. I’m lost.
- 1:10:12
If I was to follow you. Yes. Next week. Just pretend I became your Shadow and just behind you. I just wherever you went, whatever you did, I would Center behind you, it’s the end of the week. Would I be closer to God? Further away from God. Just being your Shadow for a week. How you do have a chat with a reward and Campground round about those that fear Him and delivers them. So, I do believe that if you belong to the Lord, you had to have an angel.
- 1:10:42
Do you ever go places angels on our golf? I mean, just think what you do in a week and if I’m following you, will I be closer or further away from God? Didn’t give you something number on that. If you say, well, you know, you can follow me. I have Lead you right to the Lord, because I begin my batteries at me, saying, my prayers, I be visiting the sick, I’d be doing this, well, then give you such a high number.
- 1:11:06
She said, well, some of the things I did last week. I don’t think you, I would have taken you very close to God, give yourself a score that you think fits? Okay, that’s number nine, isn’t it?
- 1:11:19
that when that night, Okay, last question, coming up. What do you think about when you can think about anything you want to think about? We all have we called a stream of Consciousness. You are always thinking something you’re not. Mine is never buying. You just you just what, what do you love to go through your mind? Do you think Kingdom a lot?
- 1:11:43
Did you think about ballgame? You think about sports? Do you think about movies? You think about about a book? You’re reading. It’s not in on the truth. You know. So many books are fiction. Paul says, think. Things with your true fiction isn’t true. Why do you fill your mind with things that are not true? So we are what we think about all day. Long sand Emerson, some says Psalms that has a man thinketh in his heart.
- 1:12:07
So is he so train your mind to think about Godly things? Force yourself to think Kingdom, if you want to be in the Kingdom, you are to be visualizing it. If you’re going to go to Hawaii, you think. Oh. Oh. I can just picture of the sand and the guitars playing in the school is going and all, you know, what, it’s whatever you anything, that you really look forward to doing you visualize it. If you look forward to the kingdom visualizing, make your own picture.
- 1:12:39
Once again, will be like, and then, and then you’re in for it, but, be content control of your thoughts, your thoughts make you, or they break you, and you get to decide nobody, but you decide what you’re going to think. And so you could you should get as often as possible. Thank God me. Now I was having a surgery that payment of brain surgeon working on me.
- 1:13:06
He would want a finder’s fee for you would find nothing there may be but but if he’s operating on my brain right now, I don’t want you to think of Bible verses, I wanted to think we think of what he’s trying to do for him here. So there are times when you have to be totally engrossed in what it is, you’re doing.
- 1:13:24
And I honor that God understands that, but but there are so many times when you can think whatever you want to think. My question is, what do you think about when you can think anything you want to see if it is a spiritual? This is a Godly, give yourself a lower number. If you think I just dream about the kingdom of long, visualize being in the Kingdom, I think about Jesus and how much you love, it will give yourself a high school but she nobody can answer that question but you because nobody knows what you With you. So now you’re done, you’ve uh you’ve got 10 numbers by 10 numbers and so now we’re going to ask you to take that page and transferred to this page.
- 1:14:11
And then we’re going to ask you to take this sheet home. and, Keep it in your Bible. And it will give you the areas where you got twos and threes and fours and say there’s areas where I can work on and here’s where I got 7 or 8 or 9 and those. I don’t need to work on quite so high and so I I just hope. That these thoughts?
- 1:14:51
Will stir you. To Good Works. So that you will become brilliant. At the Macy’s. Whatsoever. Thy hand findeth to do, do it with all vine life said song? Find what you can do and do it for the Lord.
