Welcome to good for selfie and talks. I’m Levi and I’m Chris and I’m Brian, thank you for joining us this week. On this podcast, we select one taco week to help us get the Bible in our daily news feed. We post a new episode of the start of each week with a short intro before. Hand to kind of set the stage for the talk. You’re about to listen to and now let’s talk more about this week’s talk.
- 0:51
Hello and welcome back to another talk. This past week, brother Tom Graham from the Thousand Oaks cliche fell asleep in Christ, brother. Tom had been a member of several, Southern California closures, over the years but what many of you listening to may know him for especially those of us in North America, the know him and his wife Nene for was their tireless work in distributing books to christadelphians throughout North America, he maintained a library of books and if you needed any particular christadelphians Book he was your go-to person throughout most of North America to get a copy of that book beyond his love of books and sharing them with everyone who needed them, brother, Tom loved prophecy and current events. He would give a weekly current events class at his Ecclesia in Thousand Oaks every Sunday.
- 1:45
He came behind even the Sunday prior to when he fell asleep because of his love of Prophecy and the hope and the vision that he had of the king. Do it felt appropriate to share this excitation by Brother Tom. The last one that he gave back in August of 2021 where you could feel the passion and eagerness that he felt for the coming Kingdom.
- 2:09
That passion and vision of the Kingdom, reminds us all of the joy that awaits us when Jesus returns and was a driving force in Tom’s life. We hope that this excitation will ignite a spark in you that will burn just as brightly as the one that did and brother, Tom and pray that his sleep will be short it over. Now, to brother, Tom for his exhortation on the hope of the Kingdom morning with the getting my new brothers and sisters in the Lord.
- 2:39
Jesus Christ. We have to realize what a privilege it is to be called the Brethren and Sisters of the Lord Jesus Christ. That really puts us in a category when we think about it them, no equal, no equal on this Earth. Never has been equal on this Earth to be amongst the Brotherhood of Christ Brethren and Sisters of the Lord. Jesus Christ.
- 3:14
There are many, many so-called brotherhood’s in the world around us today aren’t are like those of a labor union. They call themselves the Brotherhood and social organizations called themselves A brotherhood, but None of these hold a candle. To the Brotherhood of Christ. What a privilege benz’s history Department Brotherhood that will rule the world throughout eternity with the kingdom of God. We dare not take this Association. We have with the multitudinous Christ. Granted.
- 4:03
Hopefully. Those in this room and our Brotherhood will be those that we will live together with, for forever throughout eternity, really get used to each other, huh? This is it. What a glorious Prospect brothers and sisters is coming soon. It’s just what is coming soon that we want to take a look at this morning?
- 4:37
Proverbs 29. Solomon says, where there is no vision. The people perish. But he that keepeth the law. Happy is he? Solomon is giving his advice here will for us to heed. The word in the Hebrew here for Parish actually, can be translated unrestrained. The idea, the problem is that, without any Vision, the plan and purpose of God, mankind would just go on unrestrained following the ways of the flesh.
- 5:20
If he has a vision of that plan of God and encourages, it encourages us all to keep that law, they keep that Vision to keep those Commandments. And he’s goes on, says, happy as she or has the word in the Hebrew often is translated. Blessed, is he It keeps this vision. It means that we might take a look at this morning brothers and sisters. Our vision of the kingdom of God. To begin with our poor.
- 5:55
First, portion of radium Kings. 10 is taking us to the story of Solomon and his temple in a way kind of a sequel to it. Brother, Jimmy brought forth to his last nine days. We talked about Solomon’s kingdom being a type of the kingdom of God on earth when Christ returns. We see there’s a Queen of Sheba visit Solomon here in this 10th chapter and note her remarks. As we start in verse 4, there is mention stands by the killer red Force this morning.
- 6:31
It was a Queen of Sheba had seen Nolan Solomon’s wisdom in the house. He had built and the meat of his table and sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers and their apparel is cupbearers and his dissent by which he went up to the house of the Lord. There was no more spirit in her and she said to the king, it was true report that I heard in mine.
- 6:55
Own land of my accent, I wisdom, you know, being I believe not two words until I came. His, which may arise. Seaman Behold a half was not told me the wisdom and prosperity, nine, wisdom and prosperity exceeded the fame. Which I heard happier though, I’m in happier, these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, that hear thy wisdom, She took a look at Solomon’s kingdom, it was speechless. She had come into a land and she had frequent it before. There’s no new to her.
- 7:39
Jesus. Wow, this is quite a place. You got quite a thing going or stolen. This reminds us of Paul’s words, doesn’t it in the Corinthians where he says in 2nd Corinthians, but as it is written eye hath, Not Seen Nor Ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for those that love him. I think this will be our similar response to. We get to the kingdom.
- 8:08
We witness the things of the Kingdom for the first time just as Paul when he was caught up into the third heaven, he says how that he was caught up into a paradise, heard unspeakable Words, which is not lawful for a man to utter. He could not put into words. Those things that he witnessed as he saw a glimpse of that Kingdom to come.
- 8:32
This view of Solomon’s kingdom which existed, literally about 3,000 years ago, was a remarkable experiments experience for someone who had lived at that time. As we see the remarks from the Queen of Sheba. But we need to understand is that this Kingdom described here is the fact that he really had type of the kingdom of God, that will be set up by the Lord Jesus Christ.
- 8:55
When he returned And Reigns for a thousand years. This is a Biblical glimpse of partly of what our vision of the future kingdom of God. Can be like starting at first one, first Kings 10. He notices Solomon, who was the type of the Lord, Jesus Christ. Of course, in this mini pair of was visited by the commune of Shiva Shiva.
- 9:20
And we learn from our biblical studies is an ancient country, which is where Saudi Arabia and the other water Arab nations are this day. His arms. 72 verse 10, it says, the kings of tarshish from the Isles, shall bring presents the kings of Sheba and see if I shall offer gifts, and this is what she did. In the time of Solomon, she gave the king a hundred and twenty tons of gold spices.
- 9:48
A very great store precious stones. There came no more such abundance of spices as these which the Queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon. So I’ve written of the Kingdom begins with the moderate Arabs, bringing gifts to the king to Solomon here. Some 3,000 years ago and to the Lord Jesus Christ when he returns. And since of the Kingdom Another good prediction of this command is found in Isaiah chapter, 60, verse 6. It says the multitudes of camels who cover Thee, the dromedaries of Midian he found there are there from Sheba. They from Sheba shall come, she’ll bring gold and incense. And they shall show forth the Praises of Yahweh. Not only this point for of course, to the moderate Arabs, recognizing the Lord Jesus Christ. Came of age and also shows the acceptance of the Arabs to the rulership of the Lord Jesus Christ. As he begins to rule over the entire Earth. I think will be amazed at that time, brothers and sisters. We look at the wonders of the beauties of the Kingdom. We hope to inherit in.
- 11:05
Remember all the little things that were prophesied, that will see come to pass in that Kingdom age. Look at verse 9 + B, Yahweh thy God, which delighted the knee to set the on the throne of Israel, because the Lord loved Israel forever. Therefore, he made me King to do judgment and Justice. So, we look for a kingdom, of course, to be established in and Israel with Jerusalem to be the capital, but will witness the nation of Israel.
- 11:37
Becoming the first Dominion of all the Earth. The Earth being filled with judgment and Justice verse 12. And the King made the almond trees pillars for the house of the Lord for the King’s house Harps. Also it’s all trees for singers became known as such all my trees nor seen in this day since installment and I built the temple from the materials that they even helped gather together before his death. The latter days to almond will see a temple that Directed for the Nations to come in, to worship the creator of Heaven and Earth all the nation.
- 12:20
Verse 13, we read and King Solomon. Gaiman of the Queen of Sheba. All her desire was there she asked me say that once told me gave her of his Royal Bounty, she turned and went to her own country, she in her sermons. The type here was what is the desire and Royal Bounty of the Lord, Jesus Christ will give to The Mortals in the Kingdom age.
- 12:45
The word desire, your can be translated as food, pleasure. Good pleasure. We find in Philippians 2:13 for it is God which worketh in you both to Will and to do of his good pleasure. God wants to give us good pleasure. And what we deserve to do those, who would follow his Commandments in the beginning of the Kiev, atleast even the more population will be converted to righteousness and we’ll be walking in Justice and equity and received the beauties of the Kingdom age.
- 13:28
Verse 27, the king made silver to be in Jerusalem is stones and Cedars making to be a sycamore trees that are in the vale or Independence. So of course, symbolizes righteousness in the scriptures, doesn’t it? We’re all aware of that. What a wonderful place. This Earth will be if righteousness is so abundant in this Kingdom, it will be as common as Stone.
- 13:55
Not when we experience today. Rogers is far more rare than silver is today. That’s for sure. We need only to look at the news each day around us to see all the things that are going on in our society or the shootings that killings of fraud the day cyber fraud. This is so abundant none of us can trust anything.
- 14:25
We see everything we hear from the world around us, because fellow men are so much pretty hot, untruths and wrong wrong messages, things meant to deceive us. Things meant to Bilk us. Things been to steal from us. That’s so in the Kingdom age for the sister righteousness, will be the prevailing atmosphere atmosphere, and this is what we must keep in mind, as we live our lives.
- 14:57
Today, there are great and wonderful things in store for those who love God, looking to mate is indeed something works writing for isn’t it? it’s worth striving for the day when God and his son will set in the rule worship of the nation, not rulers of the Courts of the land. The day when good guys were ruled godliness will be the norm in our society. What a beautiful hope we have brothers and sisters and where else can we turn in scripture to get a glimpse done? This Kingdom age about this magnificent Cayman is about to come to this earth.
- 15:39
Isaiah chapter 65, gives us some hints in this time. Doesn’t it starting in verse 17? For behold. I create new Heavens, new Earth. The former shall not be remembered or come into mind. Go be a glad and rejoice forever met, which I create for behold. I create Jerusalem and rejoicing her people that Joy rejoice and reduce them drawer, and my people, the voice of weeping shall no more be heard in her brother voice of crying. There shall be no sense of infant of days. You’re an old man which have not filled his days with the Alice who died 100 years old because it’s thinner being 100 years old.
- 16:20
So be accursed and they shall build houses and inhabit them. And they shall plant Vineyards and each of fruit from them and shall not build an another inhabitant, they should not planted another eat for the day that of a tree are the days of my people might election long. Enjoy the work of their hands.
- 16:38
They shall not labor, in vain for bring forth trouble for their the seed of the Blessed of the Lord. And Their offspring with them, and should come to class before they call? I will answer. Well, they are speaking. I will hear the wolf and the lamb shall feed together. The lion shall eat straw like the Bullock and dust shall be the Serpent’s meet.
- 17:00
They shall not hurt, nor destroy in all my Holy Mountain. So taking a close in-depth. Look at those verses. We get the idea of a quite marvelous place. This kingdom is going to be like, The government of this Earth will be completely replaced by a righteous perfect God-fearing government this alone. When we think about it, would be enough to change our lives today in the society, in which we live, if nothing else were changed, but sad, Political systems that rule our world today are so corrupt. And we’ve been in such as our living, if one, if not the least corrupt of the government’s ever to exist on the Earth. And yet, look at what a mess.
- 18:04
Here’s an excerpt from an article dealing with someone in the world. But our society today their opinion Say one question has haunted me while researching this essay or we’re living through a pivot or a decline. In other words is our society. Just going through a change in going on, or is our society really going down down there during past moral convulsions, Americans Rose to the challenge.
- 18:38
They built new, cultures and institutions initiated new reformed and renew. Nation went on to its next stage of greatness. I spent my career be budding. The idea that America is in Decline with the events of these last six years, especially of 2020. It made it clear that we live in a broken Nation, the cancer of distrust has spread to every vital organ renewal is hard to imagine. Instruction, is everywhere and construction difficult to see The the problem goes beyond Donald Trump. The stench of national decline is in the air of political social and moral order is dissolving America, lowly remain, ho if she can build a new order in its place, And you think America can build a new order and its place. Course, we know brothers and sisters there. Our society will not, and cannot build a new order of any time of any kind of the terms of the Lord Jesus Christ, you will not be able to do so on its own.
- 19:53
So the question comes back to us. Will we do so on our oh and than sisters? I was throwing certain is our vision in the future. We’re told here in Isaiah 65 and the voice of weeping feel no more be heard in her in the really be in time. Coming in the world is so full of joy that there really will be no more sadness. No more weeping.
- 20:22
Note, the occurrence is MM, the word. Joy here in the 65th chapter verse 13, my people shall rejoice, verse 14, by certain showroom, for Troy Verse 18, Rejoice forever and that much I create for st. E her people. Enjoy verse 19. Our joists in Jerusalem verse 19, joy. And my people. This is what we have to look forward to, right? This is just a time of pure joy and rejoicing unlikely. Anything we can see in our society, we clamor for a few moments of happiness.
- 21:05
And then that’ll be every day will be the norm. Joy and rejoicing. Death itself, which has really been brought home to US during this pandemic. The meds and shows us how fragile Life as we know it is. Drunken said, a little pandemic to our society, it turns everything upside down, Hey, everything’s turned upside down.
- 21:37
And the bug man has conceived. Especially the drape, the three running older people now, because of the reluctance to vaccinate were told it’s spreading to younger Generations as well. but not so in the Kingdom age, someone dies at home years old Toby as if he were a child. What a difference? No more coyotes running around, it never know. Neighborhood Animals.
- 22:08
Epidemic in our MLA of that right now, animals will definitely benefit from this time. What day it is, we read verse 25, the wolf, and the lamb shall feed together. Lion shall eat straw, like the bully. They will be tamed.
- 22:27
Your food will evidently consists of other things than other animals, as it is supposed to come today. The law of Moses taught an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth. The top that you did something to someone else, then you deserve to have it happen back to you. and even love Christ in a way with that concept with place, but ionized, Place the eye for an eye perspective, my during the other cheek and forgiveness, it’s a heart of Christianity. Society has not bought that perspective at all as it. But it will in the Kingdom age brothers and sisters with Christ.
- 23:14
As the king things will be done his way throughout the Earth. Just imagine living in a society that is fair and just, and righteousness. we were all still mortal a great that would be if everything was fair and just the righteous Everyone was kind thoughtful, generous forgiving. Would be as though the glory of the Lord filled the Earth today. Wouldn’t that could be happening. And just listing those glories that are found in Exodus 34 about the glory of the Lord.
- 24:02
Mercy graciousness. Long-suffering abundant in goodness truth, keeping Mercy for thousands. Forgiving iniquity transgression and sin. This is what it’ll be like the glory of the Lord fills the Earth. This is what’s in store for us, brothers and sisters. This is the vision that we need to keep in front of us at all times.
- 24:28
His vision of that beautiful kingdoms going to come for the Roberts, wrote A booklet entitled. The final consolation in this booklet, gives his vision in the Kingdom of you’d like to paraphrase a little bit of his remarks from at Brooklyn this morning.
- 24:48
He’s just come to the land of promise and the day of Glory, as we are now a close with immortality, which is not easily fatigued that burden with the infirmities. Mmm, not with eyes soon, dimmed or power soon spin. Come on. You can step joyously and lightly upon the Earth in the freedom of spirit nature, behold the unfolded love and wisdom and glory of God ever.
- 25:17
Thought is one of joy. Every movement, one of pleasure, every breath expression of praise to him and sits on the throne, come to the city that has been prepared whose Foundation maker and Builder is God. God has filled his people and made her Wilderness like Eden for Desert. Like the garden of the Lord, the hills of Judea are clad in vegetation or valleys are filled with Vineyards, fruits, flowers, corn and wine.
- 25:54
The air is clear and clean and fill the pleasant orders. Nearby are Pleasant Homestead standing at each of their own plot. Neatly trimmed will kept it. Come to Jerusalem. Near the temple situated on top of a hill off in the distance. The exact City plans, the square of perfect proportion of them laid out to accommodate the precise requirements through sacrifice and worship.
- 26:21
When we approached the city, we only see the huge South Wall which stretches as far as we can see upon, entering, one of the city Gates. We see a city laid out in perfect symmetry, the streets are straight and wide and shallow. Shade of a tree, you notice that there are many people inside who have come to the city, to pay, homage to the king. There’s an immense number of people there. But the city’s so large that does not appear crowded with her demeanors different than we’ve ever seen in a large city before.
- 26:54
They’re also quite so peaceful, so cheerful, so orderly, so respectful, these are a few of the happy subjects of the kingdom of God. Eventually a magnificent Highway which runs toward the temples from 30 miles away. The highway is bordered by trees and grass. Lawns of states that are occupied by the Levites who serve that have home, the country becomes more magnificent than we travel alone with Avenue shooting off the returning to the main road. Again running through with the areas of solitude and Beauty. No darkness is there.
- 27:32
No walls? No fences. No one is at Liberty to pick up. Everyone is at Liberty to pick a piece of fruit from the trees line. The way along the streams of water, then we hear the sound of music playing off in the distance, being sung by a dozen people, and they are singing songs of praise to our Heavenly Father. We draw closer to them and learn that they are. Those that have been in the grave, for hundreds of years, we ask who they are.
- 28:02
And one says, well, you, yes, Graham, Legit On The Run, who wrote hundreds of songs King David wonderful. Here, we sing a few songs together. So we joined in with the chorus led by David, what a blending of liquid Milanese, what a delight this is because we were about to depart. We continue on our journey, David asks where hidden we have no particular destination So He suggests we spend the night at Abraham’s Palace Some 20 miles off yet. As we use our Angelic mode of transportation, by a simple fact that will Air immediately at the palace, the neighborhood. And when we arrived there, we meet Jonathan ASAP. Nathan Raya Pesci, women.
- 28:52
Many others of David’s friends when he was in the flesh. And we are led to a large dinner table, where a great meal of invited for us, not to sustain our Immortal bodies. But to enjoy the pleasure of the feast in the company of saints around us, including Moses, Joshua follow, many others.
- 29:14
And all of a sudden, the room is lit up with brightness as the sun of righteousness appears in all his glory. Not a glaringly the subdued light full of war with joy. He lifted his eyes and looked all around and said it is written that in the midst of my brethren, when I sing praise.
- 29:34
Now, praise our god. Oh, you just serve the whole assembly then joined together and saying, Thou Art, Worthy for thou Wast slain has redeemed. His to God by thy blood out of every Kindred tongue people and Nation Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, wisdom and strength, honor or a blessing. Blessing and honor and glory, and power, be unto him and sit upon the throne, and by the lamb forever and ever. The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ and he shall reign forever. And ever, as the end of brother Robert has remarks. So, just how important is it for us to have a vision of the future?
- 30:28
Is it really that important brothers and sisters? Look at Hebrews 12:2. Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. Who for the joy, that was set before him. Endured the cross despising. The shame sat down at the right hand of the Throne of God, We are able to see that the joy that was set before the Lord.
- 30:54
Jesus Christ, The Vision that he had of their keep coming. Kingdom is what drove him to be, who he was the joy set before him. Look what he went through brothers and sisters. The suffering embarrassment. Shame torturing and because of the joy of the Kingdom, he was able to endure that if he could endure that How much more can we enjoy? The things that were put through in our life? If we have that Joy set before us? It’s the beauty of the can.
- 31:40
The brother Roberts was just give us a glimpse of here in his book. The Loud him not only to die for us but to suffer bread. Just imagine how our Master New Years in advance. What was going to happen. Do this. And then this happened to all of us, all of a sudden here, we are crucifying me from your either about this years in advance. You knew what he’s going to go through. How many of us could do that Brothers? There’s how many of us could keep the joy of the key? And so strong, that those things didn’t affect our perspectives and our responsibility is having a father, imagine is going over and over in his mind Through The Years, what he did for us is unbelievable.
- 32:40
If this kind of vision could allow him do what he suffered. He was what he dealt with how much more should help us. The kingdom of the Lord. Jesus Christ has promised as his, a perfect kingdom was a perfect King, the perfect set of laws for the perfect government and filled with perfect people.
- 33:11
This is the joy we have before us assist comparison that we have around us today system unrighteous through the unrighteous subjects, unrighteous laws. How can we not seek first? The kingdom of God, there’s no comparison is there? Well, you know, come to remember him, who was able to give his very life for us as he focused on that joy of the kingdom and was able to overcome all things?
- 33:43
Let us give our deepest. Thanks giving to the one that did this brothers and sisters. Follow his example, he gave me the joy of the Kingdom for our eyes or he’s keeping in mind. The probably over with this morning for there’s no vision. The people perish. Thank you for listening to the good christadelphians talks podcast.
