  1. 0:13

Welcome to good for selfie and talks. I’m Levi and I’m Chris and I’m Brian, thank you for joining us this week. On this podcast, we select one taco week to help us get the Bible in our daily news feed. We post a new episode of the start of each week with a short intro before. Hand to kind of set the stage for the talk. You’re about to listen to and now let’s talk more about this week’s.

  2. 0:35

Talk for this week’s talk. We’re listening to an excitation that was given by brother Danny collister at the Verdugo Hills. Ecclesia back in June and in his excitation brother, Daniel is looking At the book of Jude and the lessons that were being written to the Ecclesia when this letter was was crafted. And I just found it to be a really good synopsis of the book of Jude by brother Danny.

  3. 1:12

He was looking at the warnings that Jude was writing to the Ecclesia about the warning of the false teachers and those that profess to have faith but didn’t actually have it in their daily walk and how that would lead people. People astray through what they were using. I felt like it was a really good good summary of the entire book and also very applicable to what we’re going on.

  4. 1:39

Now, he even makes a mention of what Jude’s original intention was when he was writing this book and then had to change it because of what was going on with the Ecclesia that he was writing to when he wrote this letter. So I found it to be a really encouraging letter. A good reminder of things to be careful of especially in this day and age when there’s so much information out there that you need to make sure that What you’re reading is accurate and also just to be careful with what we’re taking and spreading and a good reminder for us to hold fast to the truth.

  5. 2:08

That is outlined in the scriptures for us. So I really enjoyed it. I thought it was a great synopsis of the book and a good reminder for us. So with that, we will turn it over to brother, Danny collister for his excitation on Jude. I’m always drawn to short books in the Bible and the reason I think is because the information is always summarize, so concisely and I don’t consider myself to be super great at studying I get easily overwhelmed with subjects. So I like concise things and Jude is very concise with his message.

  6. 2:45

The whole book is about 25 verses long and it just takes a couple minutes to read through. So he Has to be very direct with what he wants to convey. And so, in this chapter in this book, even though it’s a simple letter and a lot, not just in this book, but with other short books or prophecies in the Bible like Obadiah, which is my favorite of the people, we always find kind of adapt that profoundness with the messages that Echo throughout the scripture and tie in with other letters or other prophecies and Jude is no exception to that and it really it really Echoes through and ties into the other letters to the churches of that time.

  7. 3:36

So I’m going to take a little bit of time this morning to look at the prevalence of the message that he is delivering to the churches. And you know it seems like every time we read through prophecies and things and letters it becomes More and more prevalent on a daily basis. So this is this is no exception to that and so it’s always good to revisit even if we’ve learned it before enlisting before just to refresh the lessons and the importance.

  8. 4:05

So a little bit of background of into Jude here. So Judas probably written in the late 60s. A d or C D depending on what time scale you want to use our previous you want to use. I think sees the scientific one. But late 60s, 8 ad and my, my Scofield actually puts it at about Circa, 68 ad. And one of the things that’s dated based on, is its relation to a previous letter written by Peter, which is 2nd Peter and my Schofield dates that one about circus, 66 ad and that’s important there’s just a couple years of difference between The letter a and this letter that Jude has put together because there’s a lot of Reflections there and we’ll revisit that a little bit later.

  9. 5:00

But the letter itself is a short, important message to the Believers at the time to be aware that false beliefs and false doctrines at the time were being introduced into their congregation and they were being taught by those without faith. And so, this is a very, very brief, very important message that Jude wants to convey to the Believers into the church at that time to make sure that they’re aware of what’s going on. And so, the letters was a book is broken down into just a couple of very easily identifiable sections after his introduction.

  10. 5:41

Jude essentially introduces the reasons. The first his message, which is that the church has been infiltrated by those who are interested in self-gain. And not those whose interests are aligned with God’s teachings and so he gives a couple of examples in the next section of unbelief in history, as well as examples of those consequences and then it’s followed by a description of a false teachers that they can be identified. And then he wraps up the whole book with a positive message to the Believers and some direction on how to resolve some of the issues.

  11. 6:16

So let’s break it down. Since it is a small bug, we can break it down. And gather some lessons and some messages that are relevant to us here. So just starting right at the beginning, verses 1 and 2 are the salutation as of Jude, introduces himself to the audience as Jude the servant of Jesus Christ and brother of James. And right away, we have the first interesting point. And the first interesting lesson that we can, we can take out of this.

  12. 6:46

So as we all know Jude here is actually A half brother of Jesus is the same Jude that’s mentioned in the gospels is one of Jesus’s half Brothers along with James and the reference to that. We in Matthew Chapter 13, Matthew 13:55. It reads, isn’t this, the Carpenter’s son is in his mother’s name, Mary and aren’t his brothers James Joseph Simon and Judas or Jude.

  13. 7:19

And so we know that Is Jesus, his half-brother just from that, but we also note that he chooses not to use this familial time and there’s a couple reasons for that. So, first of all, you know, we can also always glean the, the lesson of pumpkin ability. So, he prefers to remain humble and not not use his familial ties to further his message.

  14. 7:48

He allows his message to speak for itself. And then additionally to that, there is some speculation that he might have even been ashamed of his familiar relationship to Jesus, as he was probably considered himself not to be a believer. Prior to the events, surrounding the death, and resurrection of Jesus. Again, that’s speculation. So, take that with a grain of salt, but, but that, that could also play into it.

  15. 8:15

So, but ultimately, the, the biggest lesson of the biggest message that we get, From his omission of that fact, is that he considers his spiritual relationship to Christ as the more important relationship that his familial one. So he puts more importance on the fact that he is a servant of Christ in his message, then the importance of him, actually bleep being a half blood relative and so you know, we can take that message as well as, you know, placing our Virtual relationship with Christ in God above everything else.

  16. 8:56

And that’s something that’s important for all of us, to always, always consider. And then, of course, the next part of that verse, he indicates that the message is to the Believers, which is nice in general, it’s not only to the churches of the time, but the wording is open-ended, so it continues to be a relevant. Aunt message throughout time and that is relevant to us now today.

  17. 9:29

So the next section chapter are verses 3 and 4 are the important warning. So, Jude starts with an explanation of initial position initial intentions in writing to the churches, which I, he indicates was, she was going to write to them regarding their common salvation, which is a, an uplifting message that he was intending to put.

  18. 9:51

Together, but she heard about what was going on in the churches. And so, what ended up happening is he had to change his whole message and ended up writing about the false teachers, with the false Believers in the churches of that time because this was such a big and prevalent issue that that he heard about.

  19. 10:14

So it really shows the level of importance that he’s placing on this letter, being read and followed because You know, that it wasn’t really his initial Focus. So she must have been told about the men and he describes the individuals in verse 4. There certain men crept in unawares. And so if you read first for, we can kind of break down what he knows about the men that they’ve entered secretly. He already indicates that they are doomed. They denied God they deny Christ and they’re doing this discreetly.

  20. 10:51

So, Doing it secretly and people are not, everyone is aware of it, which is what the danger is, people aren’t aware of it and need to be alerted to the fact, obviously he’s heard about it. So some people are about other followers are not and that’s creating a potential issue. So with the description of the men, we understand the weight of the message because there is an immediate need to identify and deal with the issue because they’re putting not only their own spiritual health and well-being at risk. But the health and well-being of others are being placed at risk as well as part of these men’s, these false teachers ideas being introduced.

  21. 11:32

So to kind of introduce the important in the relevance of you know, why he’s putting this together and the next next three, verses he gives three examples of unbelief and rebellion and Jude loses uses. A lot of Triads uses three as a lot and this is this is an Velocity, share. So, the first three examples we have versus 5, 6 and 7.

  22. 11:56

We have first, the example of the Israelites who were saved from Egypt by God, but then they wander for 40 years and an entire generation perished because of their murmuring and grumbling their disbelief. They basically let let themselves astray and even after everything that God did for them and all the examples cause they were, they all perished because they didn’t believe in his message and didn’t follow what he told them to do. And then the next one is the example, of course, Rebellion. So we have the angels of The Messengers, which we know are symbols of Korah and his Rebellion against Moses and Aaron.

  23. 12:45

And they’re basically, you know, this is number 16 if you’re interested in reading it as And there’s lots of Echoes, they are false leaders and you know disparaging others and their reward for them. So number 16. But you know that we know their rebellion was basically ended when they were swallowed up by the Earth and then the third example is the example of Sodom and Gomorrah and these are and the cities in the area and these are cities that are used multiple times, perhaps. Scripture as the example of sinfulness and being led astray. And so, all of these are examples of false leaders and people who led others and each other astray and how they perished along with those, they LED astray. So the gravity of the potential risk here is put forward right at the beginning.

  24. 13:47

So that the the recipients of this letter can And this is no small thing, these are Big examples in their history that they would have known and understood and been very familiar familiar with when they were reading through this book through this letter from Jude and these are Big, you know, big examples of big consequences. So these are no small things.

  25. 14:14

So Jude puts forth the consequence, the importance and then he spends the majority of the chapter. Driving the false leaders so they can be identified. So the next, the next lots of verses verses 8 through, 19 are all describing the false leaders in the false teachers that have infiltrated, the church? So verses 8 through 10 and we can see the first description of them and so it gives an example of Michael, the Archangel contending with the devil, disputed about the body. Moses he Durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said the Lord, rebuke thee.

  26. 14:58

And then verse 11 woe to them for they have gone in the way, I’m sorry first attempt. But these speak evil of those things which they know not, but what they know naturally as brute beasts in those things, they corrupt themselves. So, the example here is a comparison between how the angels are the Followers of Christ, do not speak, falsely or disparaging of others, but these leaders, these false leaders in these ones that are bringing these false doctrines and they do and we this tactic fairly regularly.

  27. 15:38

This is not a new tactic, it’s that an age-old tactic where you attempt to gain followers, a gain, trust from others, by discrediting the authority of the other authorities. Time. And today’s politics were very familiar with that. We call those smear campaigns where you basically try to discredit the other party in order to sway, people to your message.

  28. 16:06

And so this is this is a tactic that’s not considered to be a proper tactic where the True Believers will allow God to put judgment on others. And their leaders and you know, they will be responsible for their own consequences but the belief. But the false teachers will actually actively try to discredit others and this is a fairly this is probably the first and most easily identifiable characteristic given that this is the first thing that Jew describes to them and probably right off the bat, starts to allow the Believers to identify who these false False leaders are in the church. And then he goes verse 11, he gives three examples of notable devices in history.

  29. 17:00

And these are also notable examples of possible traits of these false leaders because this is included in this section of description. And so, the first one he gives in verse 11 is they have gone in the way of Cain and Cain was cursed by God for killing his brother. And he’s usually attributed with Because of jealousy and hatred hatred of his brothers. I’m sorry, jealousy of his brother’s position and hatred for his sacrifice for his ideas, not being accepted. And then the next example is Balaam, who was found dead was God’s enemies fighting against Israel, and we know that his initial story is one of, you know, almost Redemption we’re in And of cursing God’s people, he ended up blessing them at God’s at God’s command.

  30. 17:58

But he’s attributed with greedy and cunning because he found a way around what God told him to do, you know, subtly and craftily not going against what God told him but still finding a way to kind of try to disrupt Israel and corrupt that and he did this for money. Any. So again, he’s treated with greed and cunning and then the third example is Cora, which we just talked about, which was the Rebellion against Aaron and Moses and we know that that’s just another example of disparaging leadership, and try and persuade others to gain your own authority where you shouldn’t have. And so we know that he was him and his family and those that followed him were Without the Earth opened up and swallowed them.

  31. 18:56

So he goes into the next section, verses 12 and 13, giving some cautionary words and again, more descriptions. But cautionary words of these describe these false teachers. So these false teachers and leaders basically bring nothing to the table with them. So in verse 12, he, they’re described. Two spots on your love feasts, when they Feast with you feeding themselves without fear.

  32. 19:26

So they take for themselves, give nothing nothing for it. They’re described as clouds, without water, carried about of winds, and withering fruit trees. And both of these are images of the promise of bounty and fruits. And When when, when everything is all said and done, they actually end up provide nothing of substance. So these are all kind of images that are relevant to the time clouds without water in an area where rain is such an important blessing to have a cloud.

  33. 20:08

Come without water is a huge disappointment of a letdown and can actually bring more than just disappointment, but I can bring famine so, definitely a very, very important image there. And then he goes on to describe them as Raging Waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame. So you can almost imagine, you know, these big waves, big crashing, waves doing a tempest or a storm, make a lot of noise.

  34. 20:40

There’s a lot of foaming, there’s a lot of show, but if you’ve ever walked on a Each after a storm, there’s nothing left there except for trash and debris and nothing comes of it. It’s it’s basically a lot of noise with nothing to show for it and even though they seem and sound powerful, they speak with power and authority, but they leave nothing but trash waste behind. And the last description is wandering stars to whom is reserved the Blackness of Darkness forever. And this could be be referring to, you know, shooting stars who, you know, in a bright flash of a spark of brightness, you know, they shine brightly for a moment in time and then they’re just wants to do the darkness forever. So it’s just a kind of a quick bright and then lonely existence as they go back into the heavens. So all of this is very harshly descriptive wording and so remember he’s he’s reading this letter. As an as a warning to the church in these examples and he’s using this wording to get their attention. But he is accusing potentially highly regarded individuals in the church in these examples and and they’ve infiltrated in our convincing enough to have persuaded others. So we kind of understand why, you know, going back to verse 3 when he’s kind of describing his intention in the letter. We can see why he starts.

  35. 22:16

With beloved. He’s he wants to. He wants to kind of set up this idea that, you know, everything that I’m telling you is in love. Even though these are harsh words, he does all of this in love as a wake-up call to those that might not realize what’s happening and all of these sections. I mentioned earlier, second Peter, chapter 2, all of this. This description has a lot of Reflection back to Second Peter chapter 2 and you can see similar historical examples and analogies from this section reflected in second, Peter chapter 2, and he did this, you know, probably very intentionally to give additional traction to the warning that he’s sending to the churches.

  36. 23:09

Because, second second, Peter chapter 2, that that letter from Peter came before his letter. Ali. So he’s he’s basically taking the images in the words that were already delivered to them. To say, Hey, you were warned about this. This, this is exactly what Peter was talking about and you didn’t do didn’t realize what was happening and now it’s happened. So, but just for just, for the sake of interest, if you want to turn back, a couple pages in your book, will go back a couple of years of History to Second Peter chapter. Shoo.

  37. 23:47

And we can look at just a couple of the reflections here in second, Peter chapter 2. That we also see in Jude and see, see how dude is using these same messages that have already been delivered to these churches to drive his point home. So 2nd Peter 2:1. So there were false prophets also among the people even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable, Humble heresies even denying the Lord that the Stockton and bring upon themselves, fist Swift destruction and they shall follow their pernicious ways. So Peter is describing here the future issue of false teachers and he’s definitely not the first one to warn the churches of his impending issue.

  38. 24:38

But he seems to be the most recent one, which is why Judas reflecting this letter and his own message. But we know there’s plenty of Examples prior I mean one of the main ones that jumps jumped out at me as one that I remembered in this very descriptive is back in acts. So in Acts chapter 20 Acts chapter 20 verses 29 and 30.

  39. 25:02

It’s it reads. After my departing shall Grievous wolves. Enter in among you not sparing. The flock also of your own selves shall men. Arise speaking perverse, things to draw away disciples after them. So we can see this message is not a new concept or something that that is just popping up. Just right now that the Jews warning them, this has been warned and talked about for years.

  40. 25:29

Prior and Judas, just, you know, acutely aware of it already happening. And so he’s putting his message forth as it more of a an alarm rather than a a future, keep your eyes out. Listen, this is a this is happening. Now, this needs to be addressed.

  41. 25:52

Continuing in second Peter, we can see the reflections here. So first for of second Peter, we see the example of the angels are The Messengers, being cast, down, and change. So that’s the that’s the example of Cora again here in second Peter. And also, prevalent example, chewed. In verse 6, we have again, the example of Sodom and Gomorrah which is always used as the example of the sinful city, with the sinful people.

  42. 26:28

First is 11 and 12, we have the example of the natural brute beasts and those ones they speak accusingly of others. So, that’s one of the main descriptions that you use this and we have it here in second Peter. Verse 13, we have the spots in the blemishes and love feasts verse 16. We have the example of beylin fist verses 15 and 16 is valence example.

  43. 26:58

Again, verse 17 is the example of the clouds Without Rain. Although this time in Peters example, he describes the clouds, The Tempest. So they’re not just disappointing clouds and Peter’s example, there are also destructive clouds. So bringing Being kind of a double consequence to them. So so all of these Reflections just continue to drive Jude’s message home, that this is exactly what Peter was and other Apostles and followers had warned you out before, and this is what’s happening.

  44. 27:34

Use the same images that we have been shown to you before. And this is what is happening. So, so back over to Jubal finish up the description of the False teachers. So going on 2 verses, 14 and 15. This is the prophecy of Enoch that Jude quotes here and honestly we don’t know much or basically anything about this prophecy other than it’s obvious that out of the entire prophecy. God only provides us this one portion of the prophecy, as the important information that we need to know. This is the only piece that’s important for our salvation and my my Scofield bible clarifies.

  45. 28:17

Well here that Jude’s use of this quotation from Enoch does not suggest that you consider the Book of Enoch as authoritative. So in other words, he’s not quoting from these entire book or he doesn’t doesn’t. I basically identify it as an authoritative scripture that needs to be known, but it would have been known by the people at that time and they would have been No, you’re was the passage that he’s using. Otherwise he wouldn’t have used it in his story and his letter I should say so, but he does use it to describe this judgment of the Lord that is coming and and it’s a coming judgment that the ungodly will face and he Jude and Enoch both used this to create a factor.

  46. 29:12

Seems in verse 15 because the word Word ungodly is used for times that single verse. So if we read it, you to execute judgment and upon all and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly Deeds, which they have ungodly committed and of all their hard speeches, which ungodly, Sinners have spoken against. So, he really drives home here.

  47. 29:42

That these teachers, these false leaders are Not positive. They are, they’re not giving or preaching the correct message and they will be on the wrong side of the judgment. And so a further caution for 16 is 4 in the description, they lead others away with words, they’re flattering and smooth talkers, they persuade others easily and this is another Echo back to Second Peter in verse 18 where he describes the These false teachers as having great swelling words.

  48. 30:18

So you can, you can imagine these men who are great with words wordplay and basically crafting their own arguments in a way that persuades others easily and then 17, through 19, basically identifies them a little bit further as carnal man, and they separate themselves to constant Visions. So so this is all the description of these false Cheers. And he goes into so much detail.

  49. 30:49

Not only to bring in the reflective words and drive his message homes and second Peter but also to allow the Believers the best chance at identifying these false teachers and being able to not be persuaded by them and then to to wrap up the book he goes into what to do about the dangers of these false teachers. So Again, you know, just going back to the examples that you gives Jude is not instructing.

  50. 31:21

The Believers here to attack or to accuse these men that are bringing these false beliefs. He he knows that God will take care of them just like in the examples that he provided before and so he instead gives instructions to the Believers to focus on their own walk and to help the others that were affected by these false teachers.

  51. 31:44

So, He breaks it up into 33, kind of ideas and so verses 20 and 21, he initially tells the Believers to look inward. So build up yourselves on your Most, Holy Faith, praying in the Holy Spirit and keeping yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. So he says look inward first, this is your first, you know this is the first step in this, you know. Addressing this problem.

  52. 32:17

Don’t worry about what’s going on outside right now. Initially, you need to make sure you’re looking in yourself, first looking inward, first, then the next two verses verses, 22, and 23 is look outward. So now look outward of those around you and work with them. Help them allow them to be guided back onto the right path. So he says he makes the important distinction here. No, on some have compassion, making making a difference. And so, you know, for some of the people that are affected by these false doctrines and false teachings, you know, show love, show compassion, don’t be harsh, just guide them with loving words, instruction back on the path and taken to be on. And then he says in others, save with fear pulling them from the fire hating, even the Garment spotted by The Flash. So so for these are the ones that don’t respond to the Compassion or have not responded to compassion that need a little bit more of a driving force to bring them back. And these are probably, this is probably more directed at those false.

  53. 33:31

Teachers are false leaders who may already be. So convinced of their own lessons and their false ideas that they need a little bit more to drive them, back onto that onto the right path. And then the last section he closes the book with the final step. So he’s told the Believers to look inward, look outward.

  54. 33:56

And then the last section is look upward, so the support is not there, not only internally and not not just, you know, from others other believers. But it also comes from God. So the Walk of a Believer is loving others and Accepting that God will help and preserve those who follow him in his word.

  55. 34:20

So this is a word of encouragement and and not basically reminding them not to be discouraged even with all this going on. There’s still a beautiful and wonderful hope and a God that loves you and cares for you and wants to preserve you. And so that’s that’s the breakdown of the book and so we can already even just breaking it down, we’ve already gone through it.

  56. 34:45

What’s the last? The so I’ll just highlight a couple of them just to kind of have us focus on them because the message that Jude gives us is still relevant today, solely because human nature hasn’t changed. So it’s good for us to be mindful of those that would draw us away and pervert, the lessons to The Messengers of the Bible.

  57. 35:11

And the problem with it, with it today is it can be so, Subtle nowadays because we might not have the, you know, the big bad teachers of false Believers in our myths that are easily identifiable by Jude’s description. Even though he spends too much time. Putting these descriptions together in these thoughts and ideas. We did we, a lot of times these days don’t have that. That one big bad person that just needs to be corrected, right?

  58. 35:45

We instead live in a time where information is more and more readily available and the information that’s sent to us from every direction is not always correct. And if we’re not careful, we invite those false doctrines into our lives and sometimes we do it in ignorance. So some things that we deal with today.

  59. 36:10

You know we’re told by our society that it’s more important to be sensitive to others than it is to live up to The expectations of our God and follow his word, it’s important to be accepting of everyone’s personal choices their own paths, their own decisions and which two of their bodies, their choice, but a choice is their way of life and freedom of everything. Is the new currency of social acceptance. We’re told that everyone is entitled to have whatever they want in whatever way they want.

  60. 36:39

And with this constant pressure all around us, it’s it’s almost inevitable. For some of the to creep in unawares, and for it to kind of change how we perceive. Even if we’re reading the Bible, it can actually change our perception of what we’re reading and how we interpret. And it’s inadvertently affecting others in the process.

  61. 37:05

So we have to be very careful though because that’s that’s pretty scary thought, if you think about it because we can be responsible for leading others, astray ignorantly Just because these thoughts and ideas, have subtly changed the way we perceive the lessons that were reading. And so that’s that, I think is why it’s so important to be mindful of the things that Jude has put in his letter here.

  62. 37:33

We can basically put this up, these thoughts and lessons up to this kind of structure that you just put together for us and And identify whether or not it falls in line with God’s teachings or not. And so we can, we can say, you know, do these ideas stem from greed or lust.

  63. 37:57

Even if they do something or is there a reason for it is their personal gain involved in Pride, do these ideas contradict and work to disparage, other believers for disagreeing with them. Do these ideas provoke, jealousy, and You know, I’m making it sound a little bit obvious. You know, because these are your big obvious questions that you can you can ask but for some things it’s not so easy to identify and so everything takes time. It takes thoughts and study and prayer to break it down to a point where you can identify.

  64. 38:39

If it really, truly, is a doctrine that we should be following or lesson or an idea and We’re not being led astray by these ideas that are not in line with God’s word and teaching so in everything and we need to be patient with ourselves and with others. And that’s why, you know, Jude identifies the ways of dealing with these firstly.

  65. 39:07

He indicates compassion as the way to, to save some and so we We have to be patient with ourselves. We have to be patient with others and then we can turn, you know, which also remember that God has support for us as well. So Jude doesn’t just identify the problem. But as you break down the book, he offers the solution for us as well. So as we’re comparing these ideas, these lessons that we may not know might have questions about or they might be analyzing basically.

  66. 39:45

He gives us a way to deal with it if we find them to be an issue. So essentially we need to be firm in our beliefs and mindful of how we deal with others. So we’re not supposed to be going out and employing, the same tactics as are being used on us to manipulate us into accepting these false lessons. Again he breaks down the solution with the way to deal with these in a three-step process. So the first step is to look Inward and as I was thinking about this, the first thing that came to mind was the parable of the moat and the beam.

  67. 40:26

And so that’s back in Matthew chapter 7 and I’ll read it really quick just to just inform the the idea. But Matthew chapter 7 and it’s found in Verses 3 through 5 and we all remember, remember it. So you don’t have to turn back to it. That Matthew 7 verses 3 to 5.

  68. 40:43

And why beholdest thou? The mote that is in thy brother’s eye But considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye or how wilt thou say to thy brother. Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye. And behold a beam is in thine own eye. Thou hypocrite, First cast out the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou See, Clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s side, And so, the message there is very obvious as it is here with Jude and that message is that we can’t very well help. Others, if we don’t first work on ourselves. So looking Inward and ensuring that we’re filling our minds and lives.

  69. 41:20

With the love of God is primary in our roles as Servants of God. Once we do that, then we can look outward. And this is where we can identify others, who need help and guidance. And from the examples that We’re given earlier in the book. We can conclude that Jude isn’t expecting the false teachers to be disparaged again.

  70. 41:42

He has made it very clear with his examples of God will take care of those who don’t follow these teachings. But we’re instructed to be first compassionate with others, and then save with fear second. So we look outward and we help those around us as compassionately as possible and show that love forward but he, he gives Us, you know, that’s the that’s the first thing. If that doesn’t work, then we need to work on saving fear sent with fear second but we show love love and everything that we do and it’s a, it’s an important responsibility for a Believer. And again, only comes once you’ve attended to yourself as you won’t be able to guide and help others, if you’re in a place of uncertainty yourself.

  71. 42:29

So we look for we look inward First, Look outward. Stifle and finally we look up upward. And that’s the third and final step as true believers. As it puts everything that we do internally and externally, in the hands of God, he is the one who guides our path and preserves our schools for salvation.

  72. 42:49

He’s the one that is Mercy, merciful and shows us, mercy and love, and he’s there to support all of us. All believers in our paths. As long as we trust in him, he will guide us in the way that we need to go. And so he closed. Has the book with that doxology.

  73. 43:09

And that’s a new alert word, I learned for the section. I didn’t know before doing this excitation, but if you didn’t know what doxology is, apparently, a brief Declaration of praise to God. So, I like that, I like that term. So this doxology is also listed at the end of his message, as a way to wrap things up in an uplifting way. So again he’s judah’s very aware that the message that he’s writing to these Believers doubt is Discouraging and he’s bringing a lot of harsh, words against people that might have been respected in the churches.

  74. 43:46

And it’s, it can be discouraging a depressing to know that. So much corruption is infiltrated. Even the one place that you might hold and such high spiritual regard. So he offers these kind of powerful and uplifting thoughts as a way to bring the readers hope that they’ll always have support no matter what so Now, as we turn to the emblems, we think about these lessons in this message of Jude, and we can, of course, see how Christ dealt with these examples. The same examples, almost daily, and he was even betrayed and put to death by the people that he was trying to stay. And we can see throughout his ministry. The false leaders of the people sharing the same qualities that Jude describes in his letter.

  75. 44:36

Right, so we can we can see all of these, these traits of these correct leaders and false teachers. Because we know that they spoke disparagingly disparagingly of Christ, and they were jealous of his leadership. They didn’t want to acknowledge his interpretation of the strict scripture. They wanted their interpretation to be the one that was the true one, and they were happy and they were set in their Taste of authority.

  76. 45:06

They didn’t want to give that up, but even so multiple times throughout his ministry, he attempts to save them with compassion and on occasion was fear and he remained steadfast. Helping those who are LED astray and influence by those false teachers, always showing love and always being steadfast in his faith. In God, never never wavering it in his purpose. So just as Crisis, an example and everything else. He’s an example here to us a perfect example, for what we should be doing here in our spiritual family. So to close again, the book of Jude is a book of warning but it is a hopeful one that ends with a complete confidence in God and so I’ll read the last couple of verses just to close up here. So verses 24 and 25.

  77. 46:07

That famous doxology that we all know by heart. Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory, with exceeding Joy to the only wise God, our Saviour be glory and Majesty dominion and power both now and ever.
