Welcome to the good Crystal Key and talks podcast. I’m Levi. And I’m Chris. Thank you so much for joining us this week. On this podcast. We select one taco week to help each one of us. Get the Bible in our daily news feed. We post at the start of each week for you to listen. With a short intro beforehand to kind of set the stage for the talk, you’re about to hear.
- 0:33
And now let’s hear more about this week’s talk. For this weekend we’re listening to an excitation that was given by Brother Fred Bearden from the Austin, Leander, Ecclesia and Texas. This excitation was given 20 years ago in 2000 and it kind of boggles my brain to be able to say that that the year 2000 was 20 years ago.
- 0:58
But there we are. So it was given in 2000 and he’s exhorting us on the topic of patience brother. Fred does a real good job at this. Excitation says good reminder a solid expectation on us. And reminding us about the world that we live in. Now has one of very much of Instant gratification at something. Where if somebody sends you an email, the expectation is if you haven’t responded within a day, something’s going wrong or text messages or supposed to be something that gets responded to right away.
- 1:26
It’s a period of where everything is supposed to be. Now now, now and you can’t wait and be patient for it and it can also be something that is difficult for us to be patient on to wait for God to work out things in his own time. So with Fred’s exportation, it was a good reminder one of those Topics. That is a Perpetual struggle for all of us. I feel like everybody is more likely to be impatient than patient when it comes to something. I know Kristen, I were have been watching some older movies with the boys, and one of the things that we’ve had to explain to them is why the credits come first in older movies? And we, even notice movies that are only 5 or 10 years old. Some of them have the credits first. Both of us noticed as we were watching the movie that the boys interest was starting to wane.
- 2:13
Just because they weren’t super exciting. The movie wasn’t jumping right into what they were trying to watch right at the beginning. So, you know, we explain to them about the differences and that, it was a good lesson in patience, with a little bit of a good reminder of how sometimes you won’t even notice how impatient you can become until you have an example like that, that kind of hits you in the face. And you realize, oh wait, I need to be more patient, wanted to share this excitation, I know Fred, and I always love hearing him talk so.
- 2:40
So I could excitation to share with everyone and a good reminder to be Patient. As always, thank you for all the suggestions in the comments. And the encouragement that everybody’s been sending in. We’ve gotten lots of recommendations from people, which we really appreciate and listening to those. And there’s some awesome ones out there. We’ve been trying to make sure that we have a mix of speakers from all around the world.
- 2:59
So that everybody has something from their neck of the woods that they can listen to. So if you know of expectations or series or classes, I know there are a lot of virtual things that are going on right now. We’ve had a couple of from the international cyc that have. Really excellent. So if you are participating in one of those and you hear a class that you think is super good, please, you know, send it, send it our way, we love to give it a listen, and put it up on the podcast, if you know of anyone who is struggling. Especially right now with all the isolation, please show the podcast with them, a little bit of Bible in their daily news. Feed can’t be anything but good to help everybody through this. So with that we will turn it over to our brother Fred Bearden for his expectation on patients.
- 3:38
Good morning, beloved Brethren and sisters. We’re hoping this morning that you’ll have a great deal of patience with me because that’s need what our expectation is on patients. And being that I’ve shown very little of that lately and of the things I’ve been doing for work, I think the exhortation is appropriate for myself and perhaps can help me to learn The Godly.
- 4:02
Patience is needed for eternal life. If we could, let’s all turn to go to Romans 15 verses 4 through 5. We read about this characteristic of God, and we see and understand that we must have this in order to survive. Not only this world to stress, that is around us at this time. But in order to more appropriately, serve God, and glorify him now, and in the age to come, We do this, we learn patience, so that we can follow the example of our Lord and savior, because that indeed is what his life was about patient continuance.
- 4:44
In the things of God, the lack of patience on a physical level can kill us. It can lead to stress, heart disease. Many other things that can physically take us down in this finite life that we live in, but without the Godly patients that will talk about this morning, we cannot continue on In that infinite life that God is offering us as a gift. The life that eternal life in his kingdom. So let us look at Romans. 15 starting at verse 4 says for whatsoever Things are Written aforetime were written for our learning that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures.
- 5:26
We might have hope now the god of patience and consolation Grant you to be like-minded. One toward another According to Christ, Jesus. And we continue radius is that you may with one mind and one mouth. Glorify God, even the father of our Lord, Jesus Christ, a couple of things from these verses that we’ve already mentioned is one.
- 5:47
We must begin the process in our life of studying the word of God, understanding what he desires from us and attempt to develop the patients that he shows to us. So, readily throwing, compare, what the world thinks of, and what God requires of us, they are two different things. World is infant is finite. He’s me and the world at this point in time has got to the point of not.
- 6:15
Requiring patience is a matter of fact, it’s done away with it. We have an instant world. We have cell phones, we have pagers, we have ways of communicating, with one another, on our computers instantly, all of which are good tools. We use them and can use them very effectively to spread the word of God and to encourage one another.
- 6:35
But we have to be careful. Love is not take that way of thinking and things must be instantaneous. That things must happen immediately in the things of God and become discouraged because our Lord and savior hasn’t returned. Even though we require him in our own minds to be here. Now we certainly are asked to pray continually and to expect for Christ’s return at any moment but we cannot become discouraged or let the thinking of the world influence us in that manner.
- 7:03
So that we are no longer showing the patients that God shows Toward us toward one another. We would have this patients and toward the things of God, we are to have it. For when you look at the world the hospital’s therapist office and Clinics are full to the brim of cases of stress, and emotional breakdown, which in many cases are direct result of people not being able to deal with a fast-paced world in which we live. These people have become impatient require that things happen.
- 7:33
As soon as possible, or as we’ve heard many times happen yesterday. Because of this impatience, they cannot cope with life. This is because they cannot keep up with life. Our world is a world of instant gratification and God is directed us to not think in this manner, he has told us in fact, that we are to be patient with one another and with him as he is with us.
- 8:01
But we are not to be conditioned to need things. Immediately, we are to realize that we do not have to have those things right now. Are achieved immediate success. Because when we think about it, God’s eternal life. He’s offering to us at the Judgment seat. We’re not going to stop serving him. We’re not going to be patient to that point, and then say, okay I’ve made it. Now I can do what I want to do from that point on, we have to continue on having patients in pleasure, in what we’re doing. In the continuance is serving God. For indeed, in this Society, we are well, informed about not waiting on things about Stress and Anxiety. The media hounds us about Stress and Anxiety and says that we should be concerned about this constantly, we should be able to cure it immediately, find an instantaneous pill or some sort of new diet plan or some sort of new activity. In our life, it will immediately change us for the better and yet we’re so busy worrying about stress and suffering from this dress.
- 9:04
We’re almost suffering from worrying about the stress. Another more obvious example, is the lack of patience that the world presents to us is that we have anger, or we have great anger in our stress. And this anger can induce destroying effects in all of us. If we are, quick-tempered quick to let things bother us, then we’re always getting mad and irritated about things especially about the things that we can do. Absolutely nothing.
- 9:31
We are constantly under stress, and anxiety, and we’re constantly frustrated now in God’s way of thinking, There’s something we can do at all times. We can pray, we can pray for ourselves. And for one another we can be comforted in knowing that God hears us, the answer to those prayers is not always known to us but we at least have that release knowing that there is a God and that he can help us and all that we do, he can help us understand the turmoil that were going through.
- 10:00
He can help us understand the trials and temptations. The world cannot offer this. All of the world tries and tries to present to us many different ways. Ways of dealing with the stress that is around us, the only true way to deal with it is to serve God and to put our lives into his hands for recent medical report.
- 10:19
Totally explains that anger stress and impatience as we’ve said today, can eventually cause problems to us physically that can lead to death, but that’s death. Just in this finite world that we live in what about permanent death. When we consider the ways of God, if we’re not developing, Patients that he shows toward us then that’s what can be brought in to us.
- 10:44
This is a matter of the world doesn’t consider very often the word of God teaches us that in order to survive, we must have patience, but a different type of patients. We must be Desiring to serve God constantly and wanting to do that. Realizing that, at this point in our lives, were not going to be able to perfectly as our Lord and savior did. But be willing to continue to try without patience in the way that God requires a person as we said forfeits life eternal and at the Judgment seat would be lost permanently. But we know this about God that he is long-suffering and we find great comfort in his long-suffering. Because because of this, we read in Romans 15, that we have hope for God allowed his son to die on the cross, that we might gain.
- 11:34
Forgiveness of our sins. And Still he patiently works with us as we attempt to follow the example of Christ. Let’s turn back to Ecclesiastes chapter 7. We see a description of the character of God that we so much need to be liked and that his son was a perfect example of
- 11:57
Back in Ecclesiastes, we see a verse that describes the trait that is relative to the success of our final goal. In fact, it talks about the final goal being better than the beginning. Ecclesiastes, 7 verses 8 and 9 better is the end of a thing. Then the beginning thereof and the patient in spirit is better than the proud and spirit be not Hasty in thy Spirit to be angry for anger, rested in the bosom of fools. Very short verses very concise.
- 12:30
But this first statement is extremely clear. The end of a goal is better than the beginning. And certainly in this probationary period that we’re all living through the end that we desire is the kingdom age. And yet it’s not the end of our patients are the end of our service of the God. It is a continuous.
- 12:50
It’s the perfecting of that feeding us to a level that we cannot achieve this time. Truly the end of our walk in the truth at this point in time should be the kingdom and the end will be much better than the very beginning of our walk are even what we were going through right now.
- 13:06
That is our hope of course we must continue to improve while striving for this in there will be failures along the way but we have the hope of eventual success because of the gift that God has offered us. Of course, the other statement here in this verse is that we are comparing two different personality types, the patient and spirit And the problem spirit Spirit is the word ruach. Meaning wind are wife.
- 13:33
Ruach is the Breath of Life are that gift that God has given us at this point in time the ability to live and the opportunity to serve him. God gives us this and it is what sustains every living thing on this planet. The word patient is from the word Erik a rek meaning, long-suffering patient are slow to anger.
- 13:55
As we look at this subject this morning we see These traits are necessary in serving God because we have to exhibit those traits to one another Christ, certainly had them and his father’s character and he was reflected, his father’s character better than anyone else. Ever has to be patient in spirit is to show anxious to show the proper reverence to the gift that God has already given us. That is the breath of life and to the gift that he is extending into us if we’ll serve him, that is life eternal. On the other side to be proud and spirit to be lofty. High-minded the word Gaba is to not show reverence to the gift of life.
- 14:35
It is to throw it to the side, to hold it in disdain and contempt and To Tread upon the things that are so precious and to God the things that he wants so dearly to share with us.
- 14:50
So we know that God is slow to anger and this is indeed our hope. Let us look over at Psalms 103 verse 8. Tells us. Very clearly that God is indeed slow to anger and plenteous in Mercy. It says.
- 15:14
The Lord is merciful or is it revised version says, the Lord is full of compassion and gracious, slow to anger. And plenteous in Mercy. Verse 9 goes on to tell us. He will not always chide neither, will he keep his anger forever. He hath not dealt with us after our sins, nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
- 15:37
So both we have here encouragement, that God is slow to anger. It gives us the opportunity to repent of our sins and to study his word, more diligently and to lead our lives in a better fashion. And yet there’s an end to God’s long-suffering that is the Judgment seat. And he has not dealt with us, according to our sins, we don’t deserve God’s mercy, we don’t deserve his kindness even at this point in time.
- 16:06
We certainly don’t deserve life eternal but he is willing to extend it to us which is a great hope and pleasure and what he wants from us is to take pleasure in this and to have patients waiting for it to come he is patient with us while we are striving to learn his character and reflected into the world around us because that is as important to him as anything is that this be spread throughout the entire world in Psalms 145, we see more evidence of this of this, loving character, of God, Psalms 145 Verse 8, the Lord is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger and of great Mercy.
- 16:52
The Lord is good to all his Tender Mercies are over. All of his works and all thy Works shall praise thee, O Lord. Thy Saints shall bless thee. As we talked about the gift that God has extended into us. As you can see, he’s extended into the entire world. He’s given us life, the breath of life and he allows this existence.
- 17:14
Even tolerate some of the things that are going on at this day and age so that we might be able to have the opportunity to learn and grow and his his ways and to spread that throughout the rest of the world. And eventually to be part of the Kingdom age, we also know that God is jealous as we’ve mentioned, God is merciful and kind patient as we need to be, but there’s an end to that. There is a limit to what God will tolerate. He will not tolerate the wicked, let us turn to Nahum chapter one, very short book in the Bible. And we see those very words that we have mentioned that God is indeed jealous unwilling to tolerate the wicked. I’m going to tolerate them forever. Nahum chapter 1.
- 18:12
I’ll find him versus well the verses 23 here. All you people Park and Earth and all that is therein is and let the Lord God be witness against you.
- 18:24
I’m sorry. And one versus two, and three. Okay, I’m in the wrong chapter. Damn chapter 1 versus 2. God is jealous and the God and the Lord Revenge it the Lord revenge’s. And is furious Lord will take Vengeance on his adversaries and he reserved with wrath for his enemies. Yet, we see this anger of the Lord that can be there, and it is Extreme deterrent for those who would want to turn their back on God, those who would be Wicked and yet it says the Lord is slow to anger and great in power and will not at all acquit.
- 19:07
The Wicked, the Lord hath hath his way in the world win and in the storm, the clouds of dust the and are the dust of his feet. He rebuked of the sea and make a bit dry and dry up. All the rivers and goes on to talk about in verse 5. The Mountains Quake at him and the hills melt in the earth is burned at his presence.
- 19:27
Yeah the word and all that dwell therein with all this extreme power, all this immense power that God possesses and the righteousness is that he possesses. He yet wants to show patience and to us his creation to allow us the opportunity to glorify him and to give unto him something to give our praise and our love unto him.
- 19:51
God has patience continually for the righteous, but as we see here, not for the wicked, maybe for a time during this. As we said during this infinite period that man, is in the Earth and in ruling the Earth. God will tolerate, but will not completely allow it in the end in the days to come and Proverbs back in Proverbs Chapter 14, we see that a man that is slow to wrath and anger is considered an That man a man of wisdom who has a level head in all situations. This person prospers in the ways of God because of his intelligent patients toward these things. Proverbs 14. 14 verse 29 says he that is slow to wrath is of great understanding, but he that is Hasty a spirit exalteth folly This photograph is to show wisdom and great, knowledge and great love.
- 21:04
For the things of God, to be Hasty to buy into the, the world in the way, they think about our life, and how we should achieve things immediately and we should achieve more than the. Next person is to run away from the things of God. Haste, your inpatient action-adventure Ali if not immediately will cause bad results.
- 21:25
How many of us have shown this kind of impatience at least at work In our activities outside the Ecclesia. But we let that sometimes fall back into the Ecclesia. And we expect our brothers and sisters to immediately change, and bend to our will, and the way we think they should act. And conduct themselves. Often not looking in ourselves in our misbehavior, for God is teaching us that we must be a community of people that meditate contemplate, consider one, another pray, unto him at all times and had the patience that he’s shown in to us. Sometimes we get upset at the most minor things are schedule. Our routine may be mixed up or, or interrupted by the things of the Ecclesia.
- 22:07
We just think we don’t have time to look after one another because things are happening, so fast in our world and we think we have to keep up with the world. We start to put aside, the things of God, do we lose our faith? Because we think God is not working fast enough in our lives.
- 22:23
Perhaps he’s telling us to slow down to contemplate. And to think about the things ahead of us sometimes to change. And our attitude and to realize that we may indeed be wrong sometimes when we think we are absolutely right? It takes time and it takes patience over in Proverbs 15.
- 22:45
God lets us know that anger and wrath especially toward things we cannot control will only compound our problems Proverbs 15 Verse 18, a raffle, man stirreth up Strife but he, that is slow to anger of Pisa. The Strife, indeed, very simply. Put those of us that approach anger, quickly and remain angry all the time. We’ll continue to frustrate ourselves frustrate those around us and disappoint God in what we do. God wants us to appease strife and did not Stir It Up. He wants us to work together toward the common goal. We need They remain in control so that we can intelligently effectively and lovingly.
- 23:27
Serve God, Proverbs 16 and 32 tells us he that is slow to anger is better than the mighty he that ruleth his Spirit than he that taketh this city. There is no weakness in patients. No weakness and contemplation and meditation. There is strength. Control is very important and a very important key to To our love and service and to God. Now we mentioned the word Erik a rek, meaning patients or slow to anger.
- 24:01
It is derived from the word, Iraq, a Rak, which has several translations, but the words mean, basically, the same thing in some of these translations, it is the word meaning to be to Terry R22 to linger such as when the cloud carried along upon the Tabernacle, many days, the children of Israel. The charge of the Lord in Journey, not Eric also means H translated as lengthen. Our prolong, and I think that’s a very important point to us, this morning, to realize that the patients that God wants us to develop is that which is son developed. And the phrase often used here is to prolong the days, through patients, we can achieve a prolonging of our days, not during this finite period of time for we not, we don’t know when that will be taken away from us, but is to prolong our days on a Permanent basis as Christ did in Isaiah 53. We see it talking about Christ and how through his trial and tribulation those days, God would prolong the days. You know, Isaiah 53.
- 25:09
Very well, describing Christ, but we see that not only would this proper manner of our development of this character. In Christ’s life, prolong his days. It also points out that God would be pleased about this and that the pleasure of God would Prosper. Isaiah 53. Verse 10 says, After describes the great torment, that Christ would have to go through.
- 25:36
It says, yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him. He hath put him to grief when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed. He shall prolong his days and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand, certainly many of us could not imagine our children having to go through the torment and trial that Christ did. And yet it pleased, God that he was willing to Serve him in this manner willing to give up his very life as we’re asked to give up our lives for God.
- 26:10
For when you think about eternity and patients they really fit together quite well because when you have eternity you could have all the patience you need. It’s when we let this life is finite life drag us down into believing that we have to accomplish everything immediately that we start turning our backs on God, not Letting him work in our lives, effectively, and patiently.
- 26:37
We also see an example here of the in Ecclesiastes 8 verse 12. We see the days of the center are also prolonged but that God will eventually take it away from them Ecclesiastes, 8 and 12. When it says those sinner do evil hundred times and his days be prolonged yet. Surely, I know that it shall be well with them that fear, God, which fear before him, but it shall not be well with the wicked. Neither shall he prolong his days which are as a shadow? Because he feareth not before God. Very clearly here.
- 27:25
We see that we can get caught up believing that the days we have now are all there is and then we see some that are wicked who lived for a very long time and some who are righteous, who died early and yet. What God is talking about is they will not the wicked and those who turn their backs on him will not be able to prolong their days.
- 27:47
He will not extend the gift under them for indeed he will not tolerate. As we’ve seen already Wicked action. He will eventually Lee, destroy it all. So we see here that in order to appropriately be in good service to our Heavenly Father we have to develop as much of the traits as he is presented before us.
- 28:12
And we see that in Matthew chapter 18, a parable that Christ presents us, that shows very clearly. The example of what we talked about this morning. How when one is, Forgiven one is shown kindness, and mercy, and patience. But that person is expected to turn around and do the same and their lives.
- 28:33
I’m not doing this. Will put us into turmoil and take away the gift of eternal life. We look at the example. In Matthew chapter 18, starting at verse 23 on. It says, Therefore is the Kingdom of Heaven unto a certain likened, unto a certain King which would take account of his servants. And we had begun to reckon one was brought unto him which owed him ten thousand talents before as much as he did not, he had not to pay his Lord to pay his Lord.
- 29:11
Commanded him to be sold in his wife and his children and all that. He had and payment to be made the servant fell down and worshipped him saying Lord, have patience with me and I will pay the all and the Lord of that. Servant was moved with compassion and loosed him and forgave him the debt. But the same servant went out and found. One of his fellow servants, which owed him a hundred Pence, and he laid hands on him and took him by the throat saying, pay me.
- 29:37
That thou, Louis and his fellow servant fell down at his feet and besought him saying, have patience with me. And I will pay thee all but he would not, but he went and cast him into prison till he should pay the dead. So we see here, the contrast of the master giving unto his servant. The patience and compassion and forgiving him his death, he didn’t have to he didn’t owe it to the servant but the servant didn’t follow as we should follow the example and we see as a parable continues on first 31.
- 30:07
So when his fellow servants saw what was done, they were very sorry and came and told their lord all that was done. Then his Lord after he had called him and said unto him. O thou Wicked servant. I forgave thee. All that debt because thou desirest me should, it’s not thou also, Have had compassion on night fellow servant, even as I had pity on thee and of course, this is exactly how we are supposed to be. We’re supposed to have compassion on one another and follow the example of our Lord and Savior. Jesus Christ, who is reflecting his father’s character. And what was the outcome of this Parable? And the Lord was wrought and delivered him to the tormentors till he should pay.
- 30:46
All that was due unto him. If we are required to pay all that, we are due and all is doing to God until we are released from This prison and we will never be able to overcome that debt. That is the compassion. And and the patients that God has shown us patience is a form of enduring of continuing in a certain way in order to achieve a specific gold, Luke 21, and 19 says in your patience possess, ye your souls. This patients is vital, it is a cheerful endurance that we must have.
- 31:21
We must be pleased to be part of the As of God developed that pleasure and desire. So it is a true race in life that we enjoy running that we continue to run. We must run up with cheerful endurance is Hebrews tells us clearly if we become impatient, if we do like the rest of the world and inspect and expect, instant gratification we will miss the mark and be left out of God’s plan.
- 31:48
So we come before the emblems this morning, realizing that truly what we’ve talked about is not patients, but love the love of God toward us to endure, our to tolerate our behavior, and to give us that Avenue of Hope. His love was and is great. And we find that the major components of love.
- 32:10
When it says, in First Corinthians love is patient. Love is kind. It does not envy. It does not boast. It is not proud. Out. And of course I’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the fruits of the spirit The fruit of the spirit is love joy, peace. Long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, Faith meekness Temperance against such.
- 32:34
There is no law. It’s higher self to the impatient world is to is like tying a great anchor around ourselves and jumping in the water. We may be able to tread for a little while but we’re eventually going to be pulled under and drown with the rest of the world. So, let us partake of the emblems this morning in patients, keeping in our minds, keeping focused in our minds, on the things of God and not worrying about the things of man are expecting to achieve the things of fan. Let us not die from impatience but let us prolong our lives and glorify God through our patients and his servants. Thank you for listening to the good.
